Yes Chump, the cotton wool is very soft. Just saving myself for a little cameo finals appearance, along with a number of others hopefully. Any chance of you getting out on the track soon old man?

We need a few back well before then Buddy Love or we will be watching finals. So, lets see if we can wheel you out in the near future eh?

26 unavailable / injured players for seniors and reserves sees me in a nice warm dressing gown and sitting my expanding ass on the pine in the reserves today buddy love. Who would have thought that the Melbourne Comedy festival would run this long?

I will see if I can bribe one of the young guys to give me a waddle in the forward pocket late in the game ;)

Chump.

Hope the umpires for todays game UHS VU v Monash Gryphons dont go to the wrong venue. Benny has got them listed to Parkville! They are playing in Caulfield South.

What a win by the Hawks in the 2s. We played with about 8 first gamers due to about our horrific injury situation and managed to win. Best win I've played in. Pity the seniors lost but at they had a dip.

Two very tight games at Victoria Park yesterday.

The hoes seniors held on in a tense last 10 minutes of a bruising encounter that saw both teams hit in hard for the game. Windy conditions saw the ball in dispute for a large % of time and as such all players had to really 'win their own ball'. Very happy to get the win as the bears are playing some pretty good football.

The Kew seconds a shade too good in the end and maybe some better kicking for goal would have seen a slightly bigger margin.

Kew could have snatched it in the end and missed some chances as the Hoes had early on when the margin should have been more.

A good sign for us was that with so many players who have played ones this year injured or unavailable, the others were able to step up and get the job done.

Sneako, sneako, where for art thou Sneako?????????

Hope the decent players leave sick of playing in the poo and you make another quick exit to the Clubbies.

Tools of blokes led by the biggest clown of them all.I'm sure the real divvy 3 footy clubs would join in the chorus..........

Real footy spirit is sticking around for at least ONE beer after the game. This group fail to do so and have a history of it. Oh and they wear UGG boots as well a true sign of their demographic!

Mr teen,

just read the monash website. Wow what a close one that got away by the sounds of it. Any chance of finals now? Would have the result been different if your unbiased prez was waving the white sticks?

Dearest BoB

President did not attend Sat - Any UHSVU goal ump would view it as they saw it - In speaking to several of the dozen Monash Guys WHO WERE BEHIND THE GOALS - they expressed that there was some real doubt.

When there is doubt you are "suppossed" to give the lesser score so draw your own>>>>>>>

Finals - won't alter my life either way but the boys are hanging on to 5th by a puffteenth!

Puff, Puff

After watching my boys the Wickers squeak home past Power House, I noticed the boys from the "House" were more than a little upset with one of the umpires after the game.

True...he did send off the big unit Burnside (for no apparent reason) and then proceeded to give us 2 x 25 metre penalties for a gimme goal from the first centre bounce in the close and tense final quarter.

We will take it...but it wasn't this umpires best performance.

Maybe "Umpires Advocate" (who has gone strangely quiet lately ) has some comments or input here..maybe it was HIM???

With the bottom 4 teams on 12 points will be interesting run into round 18. Dare i say 6 wins to be safe, have a feeling one will be mt lilydale. Who would have thought power house was in the relegation mix pre season.

He swore at the umpire - not in general - you cannot do that. Therefore the sendoff.

On a brighter note, it was good to see J Yemm run into a bit of form. The flying red head clunked more than a couple on Saturday.....

Thought I would spend a lovely Saturday afternoon down at Albert park lake watching d3 footy at its best.
“NO APPARENT REASON” Burnside was lucky not to get red carded for swearing at the umpire on numerous occasion. I could hear it from the boundary 65m away. I wouldn’t want to mess with supporters from either club both very feral.

And down at oval No 20 the assumption boys didn’t raise a sweat and were seen running laps of Albert park lake after the game. Could be the most talented side I have ever seen in D3 at least 10 of their players wouldn’t have looked out of place at the old scotch vs. collegians game.

lets not get carried away....

The relegation run will be interesting. There are some worrying signs for a few sides.

Statistically Mt Lilydale are still there but seemed to have dropped teh bundle, the Hawks form is worrying but the might win in hand and a good draw should be enough to keep them up.

Albert Park have the talent but there recent second half fade outs are a worry.

West Brunswick look the goods to get out of jail but have a tough run home and the House have disappointed but have a big home ground advantage.

Huge game between the House & west Brunswick this week.

Teams have been relegated before with 6 wins but I think this year 6 will be more than enough.

The relegated teams will have a max of 5 wins IMO.

Might only be one team going down, it looks like Parkdale are heading back to the SFL. (details are in the SFL thread).

The lid is OFF !!!!!

PA's are the best team in it - for sure, and are going to take alot of planning and good football to stop. But lets take a moment before suggesting 10 of them can play A-grade. It's only D3 Clarkey, so maybe the old scotch vs. collegians game you are thinking about is Clubbies?;)

Long way to go yet - and injuries could play a massive part. They would want Sleight, Gia, Christoforo and the big blonde unit at CHB to stay on the park.

I still think Yarra Valley are a good side at full strength and will provide some very solid competition later in the year. Monash with a full team are also not without a chance IMHO.

Chump.

Would you say that is showing a bit of contempt for the oppo Chump?

Are Prahran saying we don't think a game against other sides gives us enough of a workout so we'll do a bit extra after the game???

Hello Wamba,

Look I don't want to place words in Clarkey's mouth so I will let him answer that one. :p

All I am saying ...and I have seen a little bit of ammo footy - in all grades ( actually played in most ) that to say that a few blokes playing in D3 who have a good day out, might still fall a tad short in the highest grade.

PA's have some very good players - no doubt, and they fully deserve the favorites tag for the flag - but, there is alot of work to do betwen D3 and A grade.

Just ask strong D3 teams of the past ...... Old Westbourne, Sth Melb Districts and Werribee - all had good sides, all have gone well, even the next jump up, but then it starts to get alot more difficult.

Anyway - they are the ones out in front and doing everything well - so good luck to them and the new merge.

Chump.

P.S. did you need any books? I know a guy who can sort you out?

Bill Irving. West Brunswick -> Port melbourne -> Old Melburnians.

He is the best player I've seen in D3.

Yup Red Gum .... Billy was a very, very good player. Did not see him play too many bad ones - either when we played them or reading each week in the record. Won a comp B&F did he not?

Just shaded I thought by Jack Curtain, when at his prime was unstoppable.

Big Jack Niel was the most important footballer to any team I have ever seen.
