UHS-VU vs Albert Park >> The loss by the students last week may sting them but still think the Parkers can get across the line.
Elsternwick vs Yarra Valley >> The winemakers are the leaders of the pack and shouldn't have any trouble at HQ#2
Richmond vs St Francis Xavier >> Two winners from last week makes this a difficult one to select, so going for the home side.
Hawthorn vs Ivanhoe >> A good win last week by the 'Hoes while the Hawks were woeful, so it's the visitors for me.
Kew vs Power House >> The House came home with a wet sail last week for the draw while Kew were average, so it's the Power in this one.
Old Westbourne vs Aquinas >> Could be a lot tighter than many expect and think the Old Boys can scrap out a win.

Went down to Elsternwick yesterday... Geez, can someone tell Yarra Valley they play D3 (!) AMATEUR football and that their snazzy polos tucked in to slacks with matching belts are probably not really necessary.

Good game at KB... RC got off to a fast start, but SFX ran over them in the last quarter.

No injuries that I'm aware of... That's the good news.

I personally think it shows class and any mob who doesn't do it is content with mediocrity.

When you are on top undefeated you can wear whatever you want

OK but how do you explain last year or even the year before? Same outfit, same club full of downhill skiers who lack hunger for the contest when it actually matters (finals).

Just think it's pretty unnecessary for a club playing in such a lowly division. If they were so stacked full of class they'd have gone up last year at the very least.

Half the guys at RC wouldn't own slacks! We get polos, but i'm a fair way from organizing team pants. I'm sure it looks good though.

I'm with Waz on this one. I don't think it makes you any better footballers by turning up to games looking like a Bottleshop attendant. Having said that, they are playing some very good footy at the moment!

Each to their own, all clubs have different rules and do things differently. I'd hate to have to wear it but good on them if they can get them all to do so, it does look very professional and there is nothing wrong with that.

Sure beats some of the suspect fashion on show...

I think you will find even AFL or even VFL clubs don't make their players wear pants to the game anymore. I think it is based around players feeling comfortable and relaxed before the game.
Its a bit hard to go for a kick before the game with pants and shoes on.....

That's not saying much MFC .....your get up is a cross between Future Music Festival and Cadel Evans ......but the ladies love it, so good work son!!;)

I definitely can't get away with the skins at the footy like you my friend, my pins just wouldn't cut it

All those years running away from the good folk at G'boro Police station has given me something eh?

Too bad I could not use them on the field of play in what many have described as an unspectacular career for the Hoes.

moving on .......

Chump.

Anyone from down Hawthorn way care to comment on the 15 weeks penalty given out to their reserves player for issues with the Ivanhoe reserves umpire?? As on VAFA website from last night. Mitch or Chump what did he do?

Puff Puff 15 fair effort that!

If he had received 16 weeks, it would have been a life ban from all football in Australia.

Wow.... I've never seen a suspension for that long before in the VAFA. He must have punched the umpire?

Hawthorn Ressies haven't a great record when it comes to the Tribunal. One remembers their implosion in last year's Finals Series.

I was about 15 metres from the incident. 15 weeks is outrageous!
I won't give my full opinion as everyone knows I'm the prez of the Hawks and will appear biased.
I'd like to hear any Ivanhoe players view of it though.
Speaking to Benny Goodman yesterday, it appeared the umpire wasn't too sure of his story on Saturday night.
The player has gone overseas so couldn't defend himself at the tribunal. Obviously a stat dec doesn't carry any weight.

I didn't see the ressies but no-one mentioned it after the senior game.

The Chump was running for the twos I believe but he may be on his way to Toronto via Bali now.

Well here's what I saw/heard.

Umpire balled the ball up, moved backwards as they do. Players jumped on the ball and ump blew the whistle from about 10 metres away. I thought this was to ball it up again but he payed a free kick against our player for making contact with him. (I didn't see the contact but the ump didn't fall over so can't have been huge contact)
Umpire said to our player "You're getting close to borders there mate" our player replied "how about Vic and NSW! There's a border, why dont you go and cross it!"
Umpire then blew whistle again and red carded our player.
As he was running off he was swearing. Didn't hear exactly what he said but there were expletives.
So he got 9 for making contact, which the ump didn't even card him for, 3 for the border comment and 3 for swearing as he ran off the ground.
