A whole heap of running is used over the course of preseason, its not just sprinting or walking, repetitive longer efforts assist as well. You've got to be able to follow the contest, that doesn't involve sprinting all the time.

I know that Richmond Central go back to preseason late Jan as to Kew. I have heard that Swinburne have continued with lots of numbers (especially young players) which is a huge positive for the club. Can't wait to see them verse Kew, they'll be two of the faster, younger and fitter sides of the comp. My contacts tell me Aquinas have a few big guns confirmed from the EFL. If they can hold onto Williams (surely he'll be getting offered big coin at neighbouring clubs from other comps) then they will be the benchmark for season 2013. Any other news from anyone?
 
on the pre season topic a senior coach has walked out on the club after taking them to 2 premiships, taking with him the 2's coach, also with the financial backer from last years premiship already walking out of the club. it seems there not in a healthy state either for a quick return to div 4 or after there crisses meeting next week they may fold.dissapointing for a club that has come so far in such a short space of time u would think.

Just goes to show how many people are on big footy these days.... No one bit on that?

If ass coach has reported the scoop of the Div 3 2013 season, he should be admired.
If he's done nothing more than disparage a Club for the sake of infamy, he should be banned from Big Footy.
 
Aquinas start back on Monday night, looking forward to a big build up to Round One. Three practice games against Park Orchards (yearly clash), Kew and St.Francis. Should be some more than solid hit outs before the real stuff starts. Any news from other clubs?
 
Centrals start back on the 30th.

A few unofficial runs are being had beforehand though.

2 Practice matches against Eley Park and South Districts.

From the VAFA website...
Powerhouse is looking for practice match opponents for the weekends of 16th March and 23rd March. Our preference is for an away game with opposition from B, C, D1 or D2 grades for both seniors and reserves.

This has to be a mistake surely??? A Premier B team would beat them by 40 goals.

RC played a top side from Euroa a few years ago when we were a pretty strong outfit, and we lost 20 goals to 2... It was still a good hit out though, and a good lesson, and we made the GF in d4 that year.

I think its fine for PH to request higher grade clubs... I'd be surprised if a B grade club wanted to play against a D3 side though.

You are probably right Bigwaz, probably more benefit for PH that any higher team. We played SFX last year and won quite easily (25+ goals) - not sure how much we got out of it.
Can be good to expose players to higher grades.

I herd on top of everything else that there Pres walked out as well. Pretty poor by him considering everything that has happened.
