Tips for this week:
Seniors:
St Francis in an upset against Kew by 3 goals. Midfield too strong
UHS-VU over Elsternwick. UHS-VU too much run and carry, fitter side than Elsternwick

Reserves:
Kew over Richmond to end a very average campaign for the Centrals
UHS-VU over La Trobe by less than a kick

Kew and UHS to win, UHS were very impressive against RC on the weekend.

Obviously predicting RC to win in the Reserves which will take a massive effort but going by last weekends games I think La Trobe should account for UHS in the reserves.

Yup... Kew and UHS in the seniors. They deserve to go up the grades, both clubs have had fantastic seasons. I just hope RC can upset Kew in the reserves.

UHS were very good after quarter time in the seniors. Back to back 8 goal quarters with and against the wind. Phew... Not sure what happened there!

If they want a final 6 to be completed in 3 weeks it should be as follows

Week 1: 1 & 2 week off, 3 v 6, 4 v 5

Week 2: 1 v lowest placed winner from week 1, 2 v highest placed winner from week 1

Week 3 GF: the 2 winners of week 2.

The way it is now top spot has nothing to play for except seeding...

The wickers & Kew for me. Wickers & UHS-VU have had 2 ripping games this season.

Final 6 is a horrible set up. Final 5 should be the way to go.

Current Final 6 - What a joke

Nothing against SFX but we have a side that finished 4th, that lost in the first week of the finals, that then gets rewarded by playing off for promotion/GF the following week against a side (Kew) that by winning in week 1 kept SFX in the finals.

Shows how much the VAFA cares about the lower grades.

That is a fair upset, but congrats to Elsternwick on their promotion and making the GF. Based on the results of both games, the GF could go either way.

UHS must be gutted having lost both seniors and reserves back to back.

Richmond had a trying finals campaign as well... especially given expectations earlier in the season.

I expect Kew to dominate La Trobe in the reserves GF. The seniors should be a cracker.

UHS just up at half time then Wickers kicked the next 8. Very hard to explain. The only thing I spotted was they used the ball better [less turnovers]. Both teams very, very hard at the ball - very nasty clash at center bounce in 3rd q leaving The Muz from UHS concussed & I think Healy in hospital [nasty elbow injury when he hit the deck] - just one of those things when ruckman get tangled.

From what I saw this G F is not all over.

Out of PUFF in 2013.

Best 3-week, top 6 system I've heard.

Final 5 is always better, and fairer, but takes 4 weeks. Think the VAFA was working to a 3 week timeline (to wrap up all grades the week before A grade).

Good quality grand finals in both seniors and ressies. Congrats to both clubs on promotion.
Kew in seniors and LaTrobe in an upset in the reserves.

Kew by 5 goals in the ressies
Kew by 1 goal in the seniors

Huge day for Kew FC on Sunday at Ted Ajani with the U18s at 9:20 followed by the reserves and then seniors at 2! #bears13

That is a big day... Kew will cruise through the first two games... but I'm tipping Elsternwick in the Seniors in a close one.

This match set to be a fitting final to a big season for half the comp. Congratulations to both clubs. Kew have no senior flags for 34 years. Elsternwick, oldest district club in VAFA. Should be a cracker! My tip? Clint? Help me here. Elsternwick. !!

Congratulations to Kew. Well deserved. Good club and big effort to get three on the day. Elsternwick went 40 years without a senior flag. Can't keep a good club down forever. :)
