I did see the incident and whilst #52 may have thrown first, he certainly didn't start the combat or wrestle. I'm not prepared to say who threw first I didn't see the first punch. But I did see what started it and it wasn't a punch.

Nor was it a cobra player who threw a punch or made any contact to the first two blokes he hit.

And nor was it a cobra player at the back of the rooms bragging that he'd sent someone to hospital.

When you fracture 2 eye sockets have serious lacerations, and 3 breaks in your nose you would want to have done something serious.

Even if a punch had been thrown, what was dished out was hardly "coming to him" and nor was he provoked. If we knew he shouldn't be provoked, surely chaddy new too, and surely after hitting two blokes (who didn't provoke) maybe as was discussed between the benches, maybe he should have just sat down and not played. If this is a second occurrence then it's reckless on chaddys part and they should be held to account. Especially if this is the same person as the previous incident. If not they need to be more careful on who they give the number 52 jumper to.

As I say not condoning it but I just don't understand that if you know a guy will not take a backward step when pushed and what not why in hell would you approach him and cause any scuffle at All?? I saw a punch thrown by a cobras player and then the player we are referring to retaliate. And let me just say to hear an opposition coach clearly set instructions " to take him out well before this occurred shows me he was targeted and and also shows me that the opposition are no angels and maybe should be held accountable for there coaches actions.

I saw it building (#52's temper) in the first half and a couple of MC players were lucky that wayward fists did not connect in the first half from the same player. If What Vic Roads says is accurate, and this guy was allowed to take the field again then Chadstone is to be held as accountable as the thug who assaulted the MC player.

Furthermore, the club deserves nothing and i hope that they don't win any prizes for being the worst club in Australia. By playing this guy all they have done is to try and fill 22 and 'hope that he comes good'. Let's make it clear that a D4 reserves player is sitting at home today with fractures to his eye sockets and to his nose as well as many stitches. If the footage was available and shown on 'A current affair' i wouldn't think that anyone would not want this guy in jail (or back to jail as i am informed) for a long time.

The only instruction given to the MC player was to man up. Given Chadstone's knowledge and history of this guy the club should be suspended and a full investigation conducted by the VAFA.

Couldn't agree more! It was building from the start of the match that he was going to explode. Coaches should have seen this coming and let him cool off on the bench but can't put it all on them. Chadstone handled the situation as good as they could but this player was out there to hurt people. Hopefully we don't see anything like this on the field again.

Are you actually saying the actions of one guy should punish the whole club? After watching the seniors on Saturday clearly not all the chadstone boys are bad blokes! They have a crack, there just not very good! Why should 43 other players be punished for actions of one player and maybe a mistake by committee and coaches? Big call mate!

As for the Wild Turkey comp, only a very few down there care about it! So I don't think the majority really care if they win it! Their biggest focus is breaking the win drought!

You have got to be joking me mate, you have completely ignored the initial statement that a cobras player hit this player first this meaning he got a towel up. This guy and other players were instructed to target him and in hindsight was a very silly idea. If it was me and I started a dust up with a bloke and he gave me a flogging Im telling you I would accept it as it was my own doing.

And as for your attack on the club itself this bloke wasn't reported by an umpire not sent off for any amount of time the club took it upon themselves to send him to the showers even at the time the game was very close. This was done for his own safety and the safety of the opposition.

For you to have the audacity to cry victim is a touch out of line he didn't king hit anyone or anything UNLIKE a cobras player who clearly kicked a player in the head whilst on the ground unprovoked. Hang ya hat on that one boys ohh and to quote ya coach again " that's why you don't get a game with us because you do stupid things like that all the time" biggest dog act in football please don't preach about what is thuggery when you clearly have a pretty ordinary culture yaself!

Two ordinary clubs going at it. Gotta love it - what short memories Foss - Badenj etc

I do feel for the other 43, however given that this guy has serious recent history then it is a club issue. If a team in A grade was paying 2 players would you still want them relegated, even though 50 players not involved would be affected?

TIPS R13:
NB by 5 goals over MTL
SU by 10 goals over BHN
PC by 15 goals over CH
MC by 5 goals over WB
SM by 5 goals over EP

Reserves:
NB,SU,PC,WB,SM.

As a senior player for chadstone i did not see the incident. Was the player reported? The player in question will not be playing from the club again is what i have been told. We do not want this type of behaviour on or off the field. Aggression should be taken out on the ball. The senior game was clearly that.

As far as the Wild Turkey Comp goes, We need as much help as possible. I'd like to think the club has put on quite a good effort off field by making all clubs feel welcome at the ground. If you could please share this link bellow around your clubs and REGISTAR as a fan it would be fantastic. If we can't have a win in this Comp that's fine, Were going to win on the field soon enough.

Looking forward to Point cook this week. Good luck boys.

They are two different issues. Clearly chadstone just tried to give a kid a chance! And it didn't work. Feel the bloke who got hit, but he did provoke it! No one deserves what happened to him, but I know chadstone have put measures in place to make sure he doesn't play again. Not much else chadstone can do now it's happened

Well if your president had been true to his word this incident would not of occured, this player has been at your club for 5 minutes and already all the hard work put in off the ground by your committee has been undone. Having played against the said player a couple of weeks back you could see he has anger management issues , I know when you are struggling for numbers you get desperate but to read of the injuries inflicted to the manningham player just makes us feel ill as it could have been avoided.

I wasn't there to see the incident, however I think it's best for all if the board moves on from this now. The issue is with the VAFA & needs to addressed through the appropriate ends.

As someone who has been involved in club administration, and have worked through a terrible on-field incident as well, I fully understand the issues that Chadstone's executive committee would be working through now.

Lets stay away from the 'casting the stone' & let them work through the issues as best they can.

Not saying they're right or wrong or have any culpability or don't, I just feel sorry for them.

Agree with you completely, Well said, Although i will just add i also hope that manningham also have a case to answer in regard to the player who kicked another player in the head in a brainsnap incident. Which was seen by the officiating umpire.

After seeing something on Facebook i thought i would jump on big footy again and see what happened. Knowing the manningham player and knowing that he can be quiet annoying I'm not surprised that he has been hit but by no means does any player deserve to have done to them what i am reading.

Every player has the right to feel safe on the field and that they will be leaving the field to go home to their family after the game and not to hospital. I have seen some pretty disgusting things on the field but never once have i seen some taken to hospital due to a dog act of another player.

If Chadstone knew that this player was capable of doing this and they allowed him to continue playing then the club has to be held responsible as well. Just as an employer is held responsible for the actions of an employee.

Measures have to be put in place so that this player can never enter the field of play again.

Changing the subject now....reading this forum again has made me realise how much i miss big footy and playing!!!!

Great man lives! See you at past players day this coming weekend? Make it down!!!!!!!!

Well about that change of subject.... With SM,SU and EP all playing finals in the 1's and 2's, how long before WB start stacking their 2's side to try and win a flag?

Pretty sure they already have mate. Played them a few weeks ago in the 2's and one of their players told me they had at least 4 1s players in, just to get into the top 4

Having a look at the team from the weekend, I'm not so sure they have just yet, they had 10 players who had played 1's footy this year although not many games between them. They read... 1,2,1,3,4,3,3,2,6,5. Which would suggest more that since they are having an ordinary season they are giving fringe players a chance.

That does make sense. Develop some players for the season coming!
