It's a long way to go and anything can happen come finals. #9 is Jason Kennedy (Captain). The next time they play is the last round and then if all stays the same they play the first final against each other as well.

Brad Nied was the bald fella that played on Gileno

What was the controversial umpiring decision paid late in the game ?

He outmarked Gilneno maybe a dozen times and gave enormous drive out the back line. Gileno did kick a late snap though. But Gileno's first goal was down field free kick and his second was an over the top handball in the square i think. Only bad thing Nied did was turn it over a few time with his kicking.

Not really sure what the free kick was for, i dont think anyone did. It was a down field free kick but then it didnt go to where the ball was kick which was out of bounds. Very confusing for all.

Yes they outplayed us for most of the game. They are a tall side who kicked the well and were very good overhead. We wasted opportunities in front of goal and didn't kick well in general. Great game.
Umpires were whistle happy and made many strange decisions for both sides. There were many instances where supporters for both sides were unsure about the reasons for the umpires decisions.
One umpire was very narky to a Fairpark spectator and threatened to have him banned from coming to games when he made a comment about a late free in the game.
I thought Lachie Gould (30) was our best player, he was everywhere for the whole game.

I notice the players mistakes more than the umpires. The players are ahead by 10 to 1 in the error statistics. As for the Umpire Abuse, I heard the Umpire/s spoke to their President and the President had a word to the Spectator/s. I hope it doesn't get to the level of Docklands stadium or else those very vocal Rams women on that Gantry would be evicted for being too loud. Gould was BOG and the Captain was very Vocal and was superb in the last half. I thought young Rixton was solid and would be one of the first selected each week. Great Game and it was great to see all the Fairpark supporters and players in the club rooms enjoying the hospitality. I look forward to the return game.

That free kick was pretty clear for holding. I took a screen shot and I can see and I am sure the umpire could as well.

From a neutral supporter there was certainly a fair bit of umpire abuse coming from East Burwood supporters i was near yesterday too and i thought that East Burwood actually got the rub of the green. Probably doesn't help that the umpires leave the ground right where the opposition supporters congregate at East Burwood, so opposition supporters are always going to appear worse than the East Burwood. Not potting East Burwood but just saying i don't think either supporters were worse than the other yesterday. And i think both clubs were really well behaved in my opinion. You are going to see a lot worse than these two clubs behaviour.

I must admit i was really surprised at the size of Gileno, i expected a big key position type. He is much smaller than i presumed. East Burwood too have some giants but the Fairpark big men seem a little more skilled and dominant. When the teams came out i thought number 14 must have been Gileno he is a giant. Its actually really annoying not having a footy record.

East Burwood's midfield looked faster, more dominant and more skilled but they can overuse the ball.

Fairpark's forward line is really dangerous. Big and small and some super speedy types.

Im still surprised it was so close only judging by the commentary on here that it was all East Burwoods to win and from my mate at Coldstream who seemed to have East Burwood way ahead of Fairpark. It is possible that East Burwood had an off day but i didn't get that feel, i thought Fairpark were really good and it was a great game.

Abusing umpires is wrong and a waste of time. They won't reverse their decision and for those who bitch and moan that they change the course of a game I suggest you check out your players and how easily they turn it over and kick it straight to the opposition. The umpire has no control in what the players do and they screw up more times in a game than any umpire. The Rams over used the ball to maintain control and the old keepings off, it worked in the second half.

You might not understand the term neutral supporter. I don't have a club, i have a mate who's son plays for Coldstream. Dont get all shirty because im not awarding the cup to East Burwood at round 9.

You have misinterpreted what I wrote. I am saying you can't blame the umpires. I suggest to everyone in general to look at your players in whatever team you follow as the players stuff up more than the umpires. I wasn't at all getting shirty, yesterday could have gone either way.

Looks
GMac, we should beat Fairrpark convincingly, however, I'm not against us losing a game over the season when I think of Ringwood last year.
I will be there next week and cheering the boys on. Really looking forward to the game. Go Rams.
Looks like you were lucky to get the win so much for should do it easy

Kris Barlow's son has moved across from Vermont and played really well in the 2's. Handy pick up.

Obviously not getting a game at Vermont?

I didnt notice too much in the 2s from either side that would make a big impact in the 1s except for the East Burwood player who kicked 2 or 3 goals in the last quarter. Unless that was him?

Once again, found a way to win. Might be a bit of a form slump but still winning. Healey in his first game in the Seniors was amongst the best and definitely wants to stay in the Seniors. I think the Bye has come at the right time for the Rams :D

Poor kicking was what eventually cost Forest Hill the game, and I'm just not talking about shots for goal, generally they butchered their field kicking. I don't believe that I have ever seen so many kicks go off the side of the boot as today.

So how did Mitcham legend Steve Pimm go.Surprised he is still going around and talking ex Mitcham players I see Ben Miller was picked for East Burwood 2's today.
