Division 4 seems much more alive all of a sudden. The top 2 teams have come back to the pack considerably.

Since the top of the table clash between East Burwood and Fairpark both teams have dropped off. The stats prove it.

East Burwood
V Forest Hill R1 +116 : R10 +4 (-114)
V Kilsyth R3 +213 : R12 +146 (-67)
V Surrey Park R4 +57 : R13 +25 (-32)

Fairpark
V CNMLOC R1 +179 : R10 +161 (-18)
V Silvan R2 +17 : R11 -8 (-25)
V Surrey Park R3 +42 : R12 -2 (-44)
V Forest Hill R4 +53 : R13 +49 (-4)

A month or so ago it felt like everyone else was just playing for 3rd spot but now teams are really starting to fancy themselves. FP have obviously dropped 2 games since the EB match but also EB are being seriously challenged.

Cant wait for this weeks match Coldy V EB. Coldy having the bye yesterday while EB had to bash themselves up in the horrible weather against Surrey and now back up against a fresh Coldy away. I'm tipping the upset.
If Coldy can't beat them this week then it won't happen. A few key outs and if it's wet Coldy are a huge chance. I did notice a big unit in the Two's for the Rams. Even wore the famous 23 and was pretty good in the ruck.

Amazingly that 4th Division Finals are at Scoresby and Waverly this year. How that shit ground Scorseby gets a final has me stumped, they must have been the only ones prepared to put up the cash. Clubrooms are small, no outside facilities, SFA parking and throw in it's a shit wind blown ground. Not many will go there and they will be lucky to break even on their finals investment. What happened to Mitcham?

There is a major 3.5m redevelopment now taking place at Mitcham with the sporting club and change rooms being gutted inside and re developed plus a viewing extension added at the southern end of the grandstand.Grandstand still being used but the only issue with senior finals would be the portable change rooms perhaps. When completed I am sure even Cliff will be calling Walker Park the MCG of the East.lol

Mitcham is under renovation. Things are running out of portables and a big tent as I understand it.
GMac should be able to provide more accurate info.
Not likely GMac!!!!!!!!!!

Mitcham and Blackburn re developments were both supposed to start Feb 1 but as Cliff said with all the re developments taking place around the state currently portables have been a issue.Mitcham started mid May but unfortunately Blackburn has not even started and at this stage will most likely not be finished before the start of the next footy season which makes life really hard for them. As requested they moved most of the equipment out of their sporting club by 1 February. The portable change rooms are better then a few clubs current change rooms and the only issue I can see is coaches can not address players pre match/half time with every player in the same area.Have been told Heathmont will be knocked down this week with all their remaining games fixtured away and they should be finished early Feb/Mar 2020.

The premiership is wide open now. Coldy a huge chance at 2nd spot too. Even if Fairpark beat Coldstream in 2 weeks they would need to beat East Burwood last game to hold on with Coldy playing 2 of the bottom sides will probably make up that %.

I said it on an earlier post that since that top of the table clash both Fairpark and East Burwood have dropped off. The feeling is completely different than the first half of the year.

Didn’t expect that result. Silvan and Coldstream have improved outta sight in the last year or two. Well done.

That's what I want to hear and I would suggest East Burwood as well. No one wants to be certainties. Finals ae totally different and once your ther and in the finals you are a chance.

Coldstream has improved a lot this year. Silvan hasnt really improved much at all based on wins and losses. Did you mean Fairpark?

Nope meant silvan. Seem a lot of competitive. Played against them in 2016 and they were a rabble.

You mean when they were in Div 3? They got relegated and haven't played finals since. Its easy to look competitive when the two grand finalists go up a division and no one gets relegated. On top of that you add a side who is less competitive than Nunawading in Croydon North, then you have Kilsyth who becomes another side similar to Nunawadings standard, but with less players.

The whole division is a bit of a false economy. But if you analyse it it closely Silvan have only beaten the sides below them and a single close win against Fairpark the only side above them. Coldstream, Fairpark, Silvan and Surrey Park all had 1 win separating them on the ladder at the end of last season. Id argue the only team out of those 4 who haven't improved is Silvan. Fairpark and Coldstream have come on in leaps and bounds and Surrey Park is right on their tails.

Looks like EB are giving a number of players a rest. Barlow is in the team which is a surprise as I thought he was overseas.

Big game for 2nd spot tomorrow. Coldstream V Fairpark. Coldy are on a roll.
the scoreboard suggest Coldstream won easily with a nice 43 point win. Silvan threw everything at the Rams and I thought the Rams pretty much dominated for the second and third quarters and basically played out the last quarter with a comfortable win. South Croydon couldn't field a team in the U19's and that was disapointing in what turned out to be a great day for the East Burwood FC.

That is surprising that South Croydon could not field a U19's as I saw them the week before against 2nd placed Mitcham and they led for most of the day until the last 5 minutes.Mitcham v East Burwood a top of the table clash in the 19's next Saturday Cliff at Nunawading which is a surprise. As for Nunawading I saw their 3rd quarter today and a big win for them and their final score of 28 19 would have to be their highest score for a few years I would think.

That's more of a Statement of how average that team that has multiple names is rather than how good the Lions are.

I think we all know the 3 bottom teams and I am sure they realise that they are not competitive with the rest of the teams. But in Nunawading's case and what they have been through in not winning a game for over 60 games up to the start of this year they would appreciate any win.Talking about these bottom 3 teams good to see Kilysyth get within 3 points of Forest Hill today.

Was really surprised. Fairpark looked flat and except for the first quarter barely gave a yelp. The scoreboard flattered them. Coldstream are going to be awfully hard to beat now they have secured 2nd spot. Coldstream also had 7 1's players out and debuted 2 kids for their first senior game so the result is even more telling

Fairpark i'm not sure, dont think they will win a final on that effort. Looked really slow and maybe too tall on the big ground.

It's also an intriguing battle for 4th spot now between Surrey Park and Silvan. Surrey has a 13% advantage BUT Silvan finish with Kilsyth and CNMLOC while Surrey has Forest Hill and Nunawading.

Well they got a second win after sacking their coach who gave them their first win for a while. They won't know themselves down there having two wins on the board in one season. Interesting what transpires next season with the three teams.
