The umps seem to have taken their power trip to another level this year. Horrific umpiring at times.

Have they still got a large number of indian & sri lankan players in the squad? i absolutely loved the idea of spreading our great game within our own community. JP did such a good job at BHN & starting the dragons.

Not so much in the senior side.

Looks a very even comp this year, Elsternwick and La Trobe maybe the unknowns still but im tipping both to be around the mark come finals time, Box Hill look like they may struggle

A large number of lower grade umpires have been doubling up and umpiring U19s/3rds and then the 2pm games in D3/D4.

The higher grade umpires refusing to help out.

May I suggest each club gets a $500 fees subsidy for each Umpire (Field, goal or boundary) they supply to the VAFA.

its hard to accept when you have people watching (who support neither team) commenting on how one sided the umpiring is.
at least if it's bad both ways, its an easier pill to swallow.
i won't even mention one incident over the weekend, until it has been reviewed by the league, but lets just say its disgraceful and things that should not be said by anyone on a footy field.

Im not saying one sided, just really poor decisions, not knowing rules etc

Watched the last qtr of EP vs AP after the box hill game across the road finished. EP dominated the play but kept missing letting AP back into it. good finish however to hold on. on a side note, EP's ground is tiny!
