You'd have to be nuts to sign now if you're Dangerfield. You've nothing to gain over signing at the appropriate time and you're leaving yourself open to punishment by the league if it's discovered.

On the Vickery question, was he injured tonight or just overlooked? There aren't a lot of VFL players commanding first-round picks...

The night before the meeting with Dangerfield, Paul Connors stated he and Dangerfield were making a decision on his preferred club. Obviously this was a massive faux pas by Connors, because if the Crows were the preferred choice, the announcement would have been made the next day.

As such they decided - in highly unconvincing style - to say that the matter wasn't even discussed, which is so ridiculous it's like a 17 year-old boy asking what a stiffy is. There is no doubt he's out of the Crows, and that seems very much to point to Geelong.

Getting Vickery only makes sense if we're trading Witts IMO. He's the cheap-ish ruck depth we'd then want to support/back up Grundy.

If were to give up witts AND a pick for Treloar we are losing our marbles. If we gain treloar for a straight swap I can accept that. Witts will be the best Ruck in the comp within 3 years, I'd like to bookmark that now.

Slightly off topic but a decade ago it depended on which kid you asked : A stiffy is IT slang for 3,5" disk as opposed to the 'floppy'. Very popular amongst Saffers . There are stories going around of IT personnel in the US get done in for sexual harassment when they asked the office manager for a "stiffy".

He said we have been incredibly quiet which doesn't happen often

So the club just like the fans are quite aware we need a forward but can we get a quality one?

Henderson? Wouldn't be happy with what we'd likely have to pay, coming off probably his worst season in his career.
Tippett? Piss off.
Sam Reid? See above.
Schulz? Not the solution to our problems, but would be an okay get and probably not too much in regards to a trade.
Tom Lynch (Adelaide)? Hell no.

The unlikely:
Tom Lynch (GCS)? Seems unlikely to leave let alone get a trade done and outbid Brisbane.
McCarthy? Would be pretty good, but not the solution to our problems.
Jack Riewoldt seems too entrenched (might have even extended recently but idk). Would be good but we'd be giving up a fortune.
