Djokovic V Tsonga

Talk about "moral high ground". So does Sharapova's old man, go write a book about it.

It shows the kind of player you are. Both were disgraceful at times tonight. Never said Djokovic was a gentlemen on the court.

Sure he does, the exact same reasons can be applied for the hate you have for Djokovic, for someone to hate Tsonga. Personally waving your hands around and jumping is more annoying to me then someone pumping their chest, symbolising they have heart or some crap. Lots of players celebrate in the way Djokovic celebrates. None are quite as extravegant and annoying as Tsonga.

I really liked Tsonga untill the final, where he was complaining about things such as time wasting. Djokovic had every right to be frustrated, the crowd was against him and trying to put him off his game.

We weren't talking about Sharapova. However, seeing as you brought it up I don't agree with what her old man does either. Happy?

And what kind of player am I? I don't play tennis and you don't know me. Stop being a child and making stupid and innacurrate assumptions.

I can agree to disagree about the celebrations. I don't like Djokovic's, you don't like Tsonga's. Fair enough.

And again, he had every right to complain. He has to stand there waiting.... and waiting... and waiting... while the other guys just bounces the ball over and over and over again. He shouldn't be allowed to do it.

Haven't heard of Rafael Nadal? As I said a few minutes ago, he takes just as long if not LONGER than Djokovic does from the time the last point ends to the start of the new one, why didn't he have an issue with that?

Tsonga had a few teary moments tonight, seems he likes having a sook.

I read what you said and it's rubbish. Or did you miss that part? We are talking about making Tsonga stand on his haunches waiting and waiting and waiting while he just bounces a ball. If Nadal takes his time wiping away sweat then Tsonga can do the same. It's totally different.

i didnt see how he was a bad sport, the crowd were majorly against him from the start and that'd be tough to deal with. Plus i find tsonga extremely arrogant, this should bring him back to earth a bit.

Not wrong. People may go on about Novaks arrogance but Tsonga is just as bad.

Tsonga feeds off the crowd when he celebrates. Djokovic just stares around when he wins a point like he is king dick. Huge difference.

Double standards. I cant recall seeing any other tennis player ever jump around pointing at themselves. I like Tsonga and if he stays fit he has future success written all over him but the guy is as arrogant as they come.

You talk about Djokavic cracking it after losing points but Tsonga did the same thing after every single point he didnt win.

Complete double standards.

Yeh? Still has to wait about 25 seconds. Nothing wrong with bouncing the ball so many times, he needs to learn how to deal with it. Nothing in the rule book against it.

Not wrong. People may go on about Novaks arrogance but Tsonga is just as bad.
Too right. Jumping around the court, lifting his hands and pumping up the crowd (when the game is in progress), tongue out when he wins, and to think Channel 7 labeled him "shy and humble". That’s a laugh. Arrogance personified, no one seems to care though because he's the underdog, we can overlook anything he does.

This is becoming ridiculous. Since when did arrogance become such a huge issue in Tennis lol.

Both players were trying their best to win the match, and celebrated accordingly after winnning points. God forbid the day they ban players from showing emotion on the court.

Yes I was talking about you, it couldnt have possibly been the actual players...

I love extroverted sports people.

What I have an issue with is the double standards of disliking someone because of arrogance and completely overlooking his opponents equally arrogant nature.

Oh wow. This is interesting.

It disgusts me to be quite honest that there are people who have taken cheap shots at the country he's from. Just because you have something against the guy, doesn't mean it's right to have a go at where he's from.

"Whining to umpires" - this is something that any player who becomes aggravated does. Andy Roddick has done this a countless number of times. If a pro tennis player is becoming annoyed at something going on, they have every right to complain. It's not 'just another game'. To most professionals, this is their life and they cant let something like the opposition bouncing the ball too much, let down their game. Or the crowd making noise during their serve.

All in all, whatever guy Djokovic may be, he won the Australian Open 2008 and i applaud him. He deserved it. He played hard, fought all the way, and in the end he got what he deserved.

I didn't have anyone who i wanted to win this game. I took no sides. But i do think some of the comments some people are making here are just stupid (as i also think that some people will roll their eyes at mine).
