Two strong wins for Carlton to finish 2025.

I expect them to bring that form into 2026 and live up to the potential they've been threatening for the last handful of years.

They just can't afford to be too aggressive at the trade table given they already have all the key pieces in place, so investment should be made in speculative kids to plan for the medium to long term.

Will u be tipping us to finish 17th? Again.....

They kind of can’t do a rebuild. They can refresh and try to get the most out of some low paid 18-20 year olds, like J Smith in 2026. But their list is set for now and they need to give it another crack.

I would be putting whatever money they have from TDK leaving and going for foot skill player. Be aggressive. Also put Saad on the wing and try to get some forward delivery that isn’t total shit.

So much obsession with 17th under the premise that because it didn't occur you can disregard someone's view points.
17th by definition is a prediction of not being a good team. For good portions of 2025 Carlton were not a good team.

Absolutely spot on.

Losses to Richmond and North Melbourne. 10 games against bottom 6 teams over the season for a return of 9 wins.

Despite the fact I actually never tipped them to finish 17th.... That was in their 'Imaginary World'.

Oddly I think no.

I had a look at their list and none of their prime movers are at a bad age range. The only worry is cripps will be turning 31 , Haynes 34, and saad 32. So a little issue defensively… but they still should have a few good years left out of curnow and McKay.

Midfield still has years left and some scope with the holland twins for improvement, as well as jagger smith coming on.

They need to target hard some quality endurance HF flankers and small forwards, as they are very weak at covering the ground offensively and defensively. They get exposed in this area. It’s the midfield guns or bust to do the work.

Players like miers and close are what Carlton desperately need, but we wouldn’t let them go unless it’s ridiculous overs.

The departures of De Koning, Silvagni and Curnow could force them into a rebuild, or it could be a case of darkest before dawn like what happened with us after we lost Griffen, Cooney and Higgins.

These players leaving will force them into a reset, already heard the term used 5his week in the media to describe the 2025 season.

Blues need to nail the TDK, JSOS trades, and try the get overs for both

Blues have likely accepted 2026 will be a lean year

Voss’ statements at B&F demonstrates the club has acknowledged it needs to change

So in a year he should have had:
Cripps
Curnow
McKay
Weitering
Walsh
TDK

at the peak of their powers...

Voss is managing expectations by saying 2026 will be a 'lean year'?
Blues are recalibrating the list, and a good draft this off season can make 2026 a useful reset year.

Sets up well for top 4 tilt from 2027

Carlton don't need a full rebuild, they just need to make a few tweaks to their list and game plan. They've been making the right moves on/off field and could be a surprise packet there's always a team that makes top 4 the year after missing finals.
