I'm confused.
People are saying we should be rebuilding in a year others are saying if we don't make a Grand Final, 2026 is a fail?

I guess when the Pies have made over one third of all Grand Finals, any year we don't is considered a fail.Where's the confusion, its what always gets said about us.....so they can get us either way!
Pies people know better.

True.I guess when the Pies have made over one third of all Grand Finals, any year we don't is considered a fail.
So our list is only gonna continue to get better?True.
One day a pass mark will be winning one.
So we have a list management strategy where making a Grand Final is considered a pass mark?I'll make it real simple for you.
The Pies list strategy means Collingwood must make a grand final to justify their list management strategy of ignoring the pointy end of the draft, hanging onto blokes until they're 40 and trading in or bringing in B-graders via free agency.
It doesn't mean anyone actually expects them to get there.
How's your list going to get better? You're losing A graders(in the past) and replacing them with B/C graders. So our list is only gonna continue to get better?
Awesome!
A Premiership the pass mark at the start of the year in an 18 team competition - that is some sort of a dominant team!
So we have a list management strategy where making a Grand Final is considered a pass mark?
Awesome.
Let's hope the Eagles get those 4 wins in 2026, and 'pass'!
You were the one who said a Premiership will be a pass mark one day. How's your list going to get better? You're losing A graders(in the past) and replacing them with B/C graders.
The cliff may not come as fast as others but the slope is down, not up.
I'll have to pull you up on that mate, the cliff is coming very quickly. How's your list going to get better? You're losing A graders(in the past) and replacing them with B/C graders.
The cliff may not come as fast as others but the slope is down, not up.
'All In'...You might be a bit dense here to understand but like plenty of clubs who went all in on an ancient list, their pass mark has to be basically winning a flag or bust.
That doesn't mean said clubs actually end up with the list capable of achieving a flag.
Believe me, the 'bust' part of that is incredibly bad.
Well it has been 4 years since we've been told the Pies are falling off 'the cliff'.I'll have to pull you up on that mate, the cliff is coming very quickly.
None of those young players are going to be the cornerstone of your club.'All In'...
Despite having over 20 players on our list having played 25 games or less.
LOLOL.
Yeah, Collingwood are really unfortunate that Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Elliott have been as good as they have for as long as they have.None of those young players are going to be the cornerstone of your club.
Not sure why you think this is any kind of positive.
They haven't played the games because they've either been drafted with late picks, or they're simply no good to begin with.
It's not normal for clubs to be relying on blokes over the age of 35 to keep them in contention.
You don't see the issue relying on a 33yo small forward kicking most of your goals with nobody else below him to pick up the slack?Yeah, Collingwood are really unfortunate that Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Elliott have been as good as they have for as long as they have.
I wish we had have cut them years ago for some speculative kids, so that the expectations for 2026 weren't as great....
Yeah...You don't see the issue relying on a 33yo small forward kicking most of your goals with nobody else below him to pick up the slack?
Yeah...
Pies are relying on Elliott to kick all our goals.
Oh boy...
Nah Malcom Rosas was sought after by multiple clubsCould be worse, we could've been rejected by Malcolm Rosas Jr.
True.Nah Malcom Rosas was sought after by multiple clubs
Why bring Jamie Cripps into this ?You don't see the issue relying on a 33yo small forward kicking most of your goals with nobody else below him to pick up the slack?
I'd be stoked if Cripps kicked 60 goals this year. Wouldn't have move us up the ladder much though. Why bring Jamie Cripps into this ?
Maybe the man just wanted to live in SydneyTrue.
A free AFL berth at Richmond was that unattractive that old Malcolm chose to play 2nds for Sydney.
