Maybe the man just wanted to live in Sydney
Not sure why you thinking a Collingwood reject is going to be a player for the eagles but a kid at Collingwood wont make it
atleast the pies kids have champions to learn from compared to the eagles kids who have Jack Graham, Liam Duggan and Cole.
Good thing we got 4 extra rookie spots for some senior bodies to play WAFL then.

Who'd Richmond bring in again? Some bloke Geelong gave away?

You're trying too hard bud. No need to console yourself over how shit Richmond are going to be next year.
Dont need to try at all and its really not hard
Now you bring up richmond thats just entered 2nd year of a rebuild and we know where we are and that was 4 wins more than your mob so if Richmond are shit then i let you work out how bad your mob must be.

But that has nothing to do with collingwood

LOL they will be your starting players and play a Combined 40+ games
But fact remains a Collingwood Reject gets picked up by your club

* and the 4 extra spots should have been 8

You're right, it has nothing to do with Collingwood, which begs the question:

Why'd you bring up West Coast in a thread about Collingwood?

It’s not unreasonable to think Collingwood will fall away next season. They have done well to avoid it so far and have been blessed with Nick Daicos. Guys like pendles Sidebottom Howe Elliott and had great late career resurgences. They can’t be easily replaced. Unless some of the youth take a big step and or they land a Butters, it’s hard to see them avoid a cliff. I tip them to fall but wouldn’t be surprised if they finish around 8th or even lower. Will be surprised if they are top 4 again.

You mentioned a 33 year old small foward and implied he wouldnt help the pies
when your team has the Altona market version still running around on your senior list

You struggling to follow or remember

Actually you quoted Obeanie1 and brought up WCE on his post first.

You're clearly head****ed by WCE for some reason.

I'm not the one who follows other club's supporters around to threads not even related to my club to talk shit about their club 🤡
LOl you are funny

How is this thread related to your club ?
and dont flatter yourself about the following

but you are an easy target to slap around so its fun , now have that nap kid

So we have a list management strategy where making a Grand Final is considered a pass mark?

Awesome.

Let's hope the Eagles get those 4 wins in 2026, and 'pass'!
How do you not get it?

You’re the oldest team in the comp. Anything less than competing in a grand final is a fail and will make your list strategy look completely cooked.

Is that right?

So if we have a similar year to 2025 where we finish top 4, contend for the flag, but just fall short, that proves we should have thrown the baby out with the bathwater, and gone into rebuild mode in the hope we might be in a position to contend again in another 5, or 8, or 10 years?

Nah.

I want my team to do everything possible to contend as often as they can.

If any club can take full advantage of the new Wildcard Weekend finals its the Pies.

Finish 10th and still make finals beating 7th.

Q
So list management decisions that were out of Collingwood's control resulting in us contending for 3 flags in the following 4 years, winning one.

Jeepers.

Imagine how well we'll go when we are in control of our list management decisions!

The racism scandle helped as well. An unexpected fall and mini reset.

Anyway, the oldest list needs talent just as Tassie guts the draft.

And bid matching is about to get expensive.

Its free agents to the rescue or a long rebuild. Thats the current rebuild landscape.

Clearly there will be a massive reset at the end of next year. The alternative was to sack every campaigner over 30 this year and try and find some late gems in a weak draft. Might as well roll the old fossil dice and see if the old campaigners can hang on for an extra 8 week next year. The way we finished doesn't suggest its likely but when we missed the 8 in 2024 everyone said we were ****ed then too. When the older players start becoming a liability is when it turns to shit. Hasn't tipped yet..
