Watson is a machine. He must be negated.

Our best match up for him is sitting on the sidelines.

We're going to miss Jack badly this week.

The question is whether we bother to tag him as it appears it doesn't matter with Watson.

I would like to see someone given a chance to sit on him, maybe Firitto and Cunners could tag team?

One thing is for sure: If we win it won't count. "65 of our best 22 out".

End of the home and away season the top 8 sides go into the finals........whether its luck or its great management (injury wise) they can cry all they want about their injuries. If they cant make to the line come end of season then thats their problem.

He is untaggable at the centre clearances. I would concentrate more on the players running past.

He must be made accountable around the ground.

Swallow and Watson to go head to head, always an awesome match up. Both are very damaging and don't stop attacking the ball all day. Both will play well. The game will be decided by which teams other mids get on top IMO. This is where we should have them coverd. Im hoping we have to many that can rotate through there and burn the bombers out.
We really need Hanson/Tarrent to get dangerouse otherwise fletch will have a field day as 3rd man in on drew all day. Lower the eyes this week please boys.

We've been pretty shakey form wise of late so will really need to step up a gear this week.

If we shut out their outside runners, Watson won't have anyone to handball it to.

Swallow head-to-head is the go. Don't bother tagging him, but also have Cunnington get in his way as much as possible.

Our forward line will be the key here, regardless of whether or not Fletcher plays. Adams back in will be huge. His absence was immediately noticeable against the Dogs.

Cunnington will play on Watson. He's inherited Ziebs' job of going with the big guys. Played on Boyd on Saturday.

Hocking will go with Swallow.

Wells and Harvey will likely run around on their own which is great for us.

According to the Ess board, we are only missing Thomas and Ziebell, Adams does not exist, Grima and Thompson are suspect in the air, and Bellchambers had been the equal of Goldstein.
Well done. You took things I said out of context. I said you'd only have Thomas and Ziebell out for this game, and that Bellchambers and Goldstein were both in good form.

It matters. Remember the game where they got up against us by a couple of points, the game where Swallow kicked the goal that was given a behind? It was all on the back of Watson. But we can cover for him. We'll win. It means too much to us.

What I'm saying mate is that tagging Watson is nigh on impossible so do we tackle it differently?

Need to back our runners to beat theirs (likely no Zaharakis or Winderlich) and our insides to break even at the clearances.

If Swallow and Cunners can win the hardball, then our midfield runners run wild. If we can keep up the intensity all 4 quarters and hit up our forwards on the lead, we should win comfortably IMO. Alot of "ifs" though, the thing I'm worried about mostly is Essendon's current W/L streak, they'll be bringing everything this weekend to keep their finals hope alive.
