They're my tip for the flag.*

Play an awesome brand of high pressure footy that reminds me of my mob in 2010-11. Backline with Grimes, Rance and Astbury has been one of the best performed this year though most folks seem to focus on what the small forward pressure brings.

Have 15 blokes in career best form I reckon. And momentum. The Tigers are a huge chance and it's great for footy.

But would failing to win a final spell failure? Depends who they play and how they lose them.

*I tipped 110 in the H&A.

richmonds game wont hold them up in finals IMO, ive seen it so many times...
too many inexperienced players, and they cant handle pressure, too small forward line also

its 50:50 imo, its a pass and a fail if the lose both
FWIW I somewhat agree, but surprised how many Dogs fans are giving us none.

You'd think they'd know a thing or two about being written off.

the good thing for Richmond is that Menegola plays one solid game every month. He will shit himself over the next couple of weeks so it's all left to Dangerfield and maybe Selwood.
Taylor isn't kicking a bag on Rance again so Richmond is going to beat us at the MCG in a fortnight.
They play that ground better than us and they won't lose a player early on in the game like they did last time these two teams met.

I think the question should be, do Geelong get a pass mark if they go out in straight sets.

I'm sure the media love in and I guess ans of both teams won't be too harsh on them. But any top 4 team that loses the first final..... and.or goes out in straight sets should feel very silly (like Hawthorn letting a golden opportunity slip last year).

Our game style last year was built for finals. And we were the kings of winning close games. Unlike the dogs 08-10.

I'm just not sold on Richmond just yet

You also said we would not even make finals. Do not filter this thread with your bottom 4 tears
You keep track of everyone who predicted the Tigers wouldn't make finals? What an exciting life you lead.

You'll be the one in tears when Dusty leaves for a bottom 4 team.

Have done very well to finish 3rd at the end of the H&A season, who would've thought they'd be within a win of top spot at the end of the year going into the season? But with the finals looming, this is where Richmond are really going to be judged. Like most on here have said, going out in straight sets would be a fail. Playing Geelong first up is going to be interesting. Haven't beaten them since 2006, so what an opportunity for Richmond to break the streak against Geelong as well as winning their first final since 2001. I'm leaning towards Geelong however. Going to be a big finals series for the Tigers, they need to win a final but I have my doubts.

The pass mark keeps moving.

Pre season, suggesting we'd make finals was laughed at.

Then we started winning, and it was 'haven't beaten anyone'...

Then it was likely finals, and we had to win a final.

If we win a final, then I'm sure the bar will move again.

I'm confident that if we win the flag, the BF 'neutrals' will be all about how it doesn't mean much due to <insert reason here>.

So really, I don't care about your pass mark. We made 3rd with a very young team, and whatever we achieve (or don't) next year will almost certainly be better, so whatever your judgement, the future looks sunny.
It's a reflection of the success of the tigers season that the pass mark moves.... This is a good thing - there's no 'pass mark' for grand finallists: once you make it that far, only victory matters.
