Do we “Lobbify” English?

The best footy I ever saw from him was the first third of the 2021 season when he floated between the forward line and backup ruck.

He was kicking goals and was near the top of the contested marking table. Then Martin went down and English got concussed and he ended up back in the ruck after a break.

I think that role suited him, but it’s probably also Darcy’s best position and we’d all prefer him there rather than English. Not sure how well the two would function together in the forward line.

I think if he starts holding his marks again he’ll look a lot better. Not sure he has any position other than the above.

Throw him forward, Lachie Smith comes in with 60-65% TOG.

Darcy, Naughton and Tim (small doses) chop out in the ruck.

Is a pretty accurate set shot and good below his knees for someone of his size.

Every week it becomes more apparent that he can no longer play as our first choice ruckman and looks completely shot of confidence.

Cannot afford to carry his lack of tenacity in ruck contests any longer, particularly without our first choice midfield rotation picking up the scraps.

Get some value out of him whilst we can and shop him in the trade period. Maybe West Coast will be stupid enough to throw a first back. Target an athletic monster in the MSD. Has anyone seen much of Ajang Kuol mun?
