Not sure about the merits of the OP - hard to take the average weight of 44 players and then extrapolate that to the 22 players on the day - there are far too many variables.
Strangest thing is that players are shedding weight across the AFL - Player after player interviewed says they've dropped weight - Being leaner is the way of the future.

Clearly there has been a focus on running in the preseason.
Okay then, what about on just face value? What do you think of our young recruits? I think they're really on the skinny side:

Need Zach Merrett to teach everyone how it is done.I'd love to see a "missed tackle" stat or a grading of the effectiveness of tackles. We are bloody hopeless. The amount of times opposition players stand up in tackles and get the ball free, or even worse break free themselves, has struck me the last two weeks. We at least need someone to train better technique if not get some size about us.

something needs to be done. we are not doing this right. it is so obvious we aren't up with the rest of the comp
We should consider a supplements regime!
Our strength & conditioning coach is Golum from Lord of the Rings.
We are clearly well of the pace. Not strong enough. Not powerful enough. Not fit enough.
We can't have gotten it wrong on draft day with almost every player we have.
