On top of this we still need to find a spot for Fog!..

We can worry about finding a spot for Fog in 2020. 2019 is our all in no holds barred crack at a flag. I really didnt expect us to keep Sloane, so my entire outlook has changed from a month ago. We need to keep Gov and go all out for a flag. We would have added an A-grade version of Seeds, Gibbs, Doedee, Gallucci, Murphy and a fit Smith and Gov to our losing 2017 team. We have covered Lever and pretty much covered the defensive pressure of Cameron.

We will have a really good side next year. If we can get Tex, Sauce and Eddie firing then I am sure we make a prelim and from there, anything can happen. Fogarty is going to be a great player for us. I think he is the perfect replacement for Tex. But he simply wont have the fitness base to play AFL next season. Not for a team that is having a genuine crack at a flag. Great cover though if we lose a big man and he would be next man up if Tex or JJ goes down.

They didnt want to match Eddie Betts offer, so he doesnt count either.

50:50, he wanted to stay and they stiffed him $50k/year. They opened the door for us, but it's not really a trade, they effectively just let him go to the highest bidder. Still, there's a much closer connection with them not matching our offer compared to straight out delisting Wright and him putting his hand up to go anywhere and them picking him up 6 weeks later. There's no connection there at all.

It's a very valid point, but this kid has already played quality football against grown men.

If he wasn't an SA kid we wouldn't be so desperate IMO
Fog is playing against men in the Sanfl against grown men too... whilst he’s been alright he hasn’t exactly set the world on fire at AFL level yet..

Although I do see Lukosious more in Collingwood’s Stephenson type and Stephenson has had an immediate impact in most games..

Haven't taken much notice of this years draft but is Luko touted as no.1 because he's a key forward or because he's that good?

Also we should trade Walker or JJ while they have value, JJ is a finals Houdini specialist and Walker can't string two games together. If we go for Luko then we can't fit him in with Fog/Gov/Walker/JJ. Would rather keep Gov as he is one of our few players who take front spot in a marking contest.

Due to surplus we never play Lynch as a key forward, before JJ cemented his spot years ago, Lynch was a playing his role very well. Wouldn't mind seeing him play deep, has x factor despite form drop this year.
I wondered also about how good Lukosius was also so spoke to friend that saw all the u-18 games etc as family member played in team and he said that he is a real talent that comes along rarely and that SA team were a lot superior to Metro and lot of real talent there.

Eh who knows. Weitering, J.Martin and Petracca were suppose to be generational talents.

Martin might be if he ever got fit, Weitering is playing at Carlton, Petracca has been somewhat disappointing but the talent is there.

Lukosius dominated an SANFL prelim final in a losing side as a 17yo.

I already have said it, but here again.
SOS wanted LESS in 2016 than he got in 2017. We paid more a year later.
We gave in points terms pick 4 for a 29 year old, who will not bring us a flag.
SOS stuck to his guns and we blinked. SOS played hardball when Reid came out in 17 saying Gibbs wanted to be trade before even speaking to Carlton.

How do you figure SOS wanted less in 2016? most people would agree we paid less in 2017 than was asked in 2016

I’m listening and wondering what real facts support this idea?

Don't shoot me I'm only the messenger...;)

It shows a real lack of planning to get to the top but a willingness to hover perpetually in the middle ranks.

Yuk.

Roos thinks Carlton should trade us pick #1 for picks #8 & #13 + Gallucci.

Too much imo.

Would prefer we try & move up pick #8 to grab Rankine as won't cost us as much.

Gotta keep Gallucci, he is part of the plan to fill the team with talent moving forward. Gallucci, Milera, Doedee, Fogarty etc.

Is he ******* joking with some of those trade suggestions for pick 13?

Stretch, Wagner, Miles, Bugg and Horlin-Smith you could practically get as delisted free agents. The rest you could bundle together for a second round pick or less.

In any case most of those players are spuds. That's not how you improve your list

I'll have some of what Roos is smoking with the whole bloody scenario.

Also suggesting Walsh could be available at 8? Isn't he a lock for top 3?

Lol Walsh @ #8 is some play station levels right there, even Smith @ #8 is bordering on play station and O'Halloran is going to need a extraordinary finish to 2018 to even get inside the top 10 IMO. Must think Hamish and Reid are dunderheads that came down with the last shower.
