Looking at the upcoming rounds do we have to rely on the following teams to lose as many games as possible for us to make the 8?

Fremantle
Geelong
Saints
Hawthorn (also a terrible draw, last 7 games they face 5 of the top 6 teams)
Carlton (there draw for the rest of the year is horrible, not including in the 8)

and of course for us to win the games we should and maybe an upset or 2.

Can't remember the thread but someone posted a ranking order of each club's run home going on wins/losses of the teams they are yet to play.

Richmond had clearly the easiest run home, and Geelong, Hawthorn the toughest.

No guarantees but there are really only 3 games to come that I think will be less than a very good chance of a win.

. We just need to keep winning in particular the fixtures against other finals contenders, 8 point games

i hate it when this chat starts, lets focus on winning games to start with? if we make the 8 we do it because we are good enough. no point hoping and praying to make it. lets just be good enough to get there. if we keep winning it becomes a non issue.

Quite possible that we'll be in the 8 after this week, Saints and Blues have Adelaide and WC respectively, both away, so a big win for us and comfortable losses for them would see us jump over them. And Freo have the bye. Agree with goodie though, let's just win games. Exercise in futility to try to figure it all out this far away from September.

We may have stuffed our finals chance against Freo. Well we definately halved our chances anyway. Very disappointed the players didn't come out harder from the first bounce. 2 finals appearances in 30 years should have been enough incentive

We were a very good chance to win last weekend.......look how that turned out

the games against the other teams fighting for 7-8th are going to be the gold ones and we need to win pretty much every game form here in and sneak one of pies dons or blues

I think this is a silly thread but anyway, we need a 160 point spread to get above the Saints, focus on the 4 instead :D

Yeah not overly likely but certainly a possibility that they would lose by about 10 goals with us winning by near to 100. It's not particularly relevant to anything though, I couldn't really care less if we were 10th or 8th on percentage after round 12, just found it interesting that it's a possibility, especially considering we apparently have the easiest run home in the league.

So are you saying to bet the house on richmond to win and edwards first goal in a combo :p
I think we can get up.
Hardwick will know after Freo's performance that we need to step it up.

I think we can do them. It wasn't so long ago that they were worse than us and I think we are now just about on par.
No, I don't think we are on par with them. In fact, (and really hate saying this) they have been the biggest improver this season by a mile, thanks to Sanderson and his assistants. A far cry from the recent cellar dwelling seasons of Craig David at the helm!
If a miracle happens and we beat the Cows in R14, our win/loss ratio should be 7-6, then absolutely right back in the hunt for a finals position. It will be a mighty effort!
Unfortunately, the Cows have been playing inspiring footy all year, regardless of their easier draw and should account for St Kilda on Friday evening.

Lets hope the Crows do account for the Saints this week. If St Kilda happen to win, and I give them a chance, I reckon they'll be hard to knock out of that 8th spot...

Lets just beat GWS first. If we get over them we can concentrate on Adelaide. If we beat them we'd cancel the Freo loss out for sure

The Saints are playing reasonable footy at the moment and will give it a shake on Friday night.
It will be a mammoth task to beat the Cows at AAMI and their first win there since R2 of 2009!

we'll have to beat one of the blues or dons to get into the 8 now i think. would also require us to win the games we should. we have to beat north and the dogs. both teams always get up to play us. beating the dees by 10 goals again would do wonders...

If we win the games we should and beat one of Crows, Blues or Bombers we SHOULD make it.

I think we can beat one of crows, blues or bombers but I don't think we will win all the games we should.

IMO North will play out of their skins to try and beat us as will Footscray and the Dees.

Doesn't really cancel out the Freo loss at all. Only a win against a side we are not expected to beat will cancel out the Freo loss.
Oh, I'm going this week. Are you? Weak as if you don't:cool:
