I think we dont have the players or the skills to pull off our gameplan
I completely agree.

However, Hardwick made it clear what "type" of players we would draft and trade for and we haven't stuck by that to the whole. That is the first error.

Also, coaches at other clubs play a gameplan that is either easier to execute and follow or one that suits the players at their disposal. They then trade and draft for players who fit that profile and fill the gaps. This is the second error. Hardwick has not modified our gameplan when we can't execute it nor have we bought in players who can slot in and execute at that level (a Moore / Townsend / Yarran)

Hardwick on McBean "the reality at AFL Level, is that you get paid to kick goals.."

...then turns an 80 goal per season, dual Coleman medallist full forward into a 40 goal per season up the ground half forward for the better of the team"

Feel sorry for our stars like Jack and Cotch who are forced play out of position or "team roles" to accommodate plodders...
Look at how Cotch has to win the hard ball and pass it out to Ellis and Grigg. At any other club, Cotch would be on the receiving end using his skills to break the lines and make things happen.

Hardwick is done and 2017 is already a write off regardless of who we trade for

Really confusing messages - in the last 2 drafts we have gone for a high % of running outside types yet have made absolutely no attempt to develop a more attacking game style to compliment that type of player. Actually started moving the ball slower !!
I just can't see the direction we are heading in relation to recruitment that compliments game style. Headless chook stuff by the head coach.

We're stuffed. And our stars, other then Dusty, are only going to get older, slower and more injury prone with each season that passes. Picture our list without the class of Riewoldt, Rance, Lids and Cotchin at the peak of their powers. This is what we have to look forward to. There's going to be some dark, dark days ahead. The Cotchin/Deledio/Riewoldt era has been completely wasted.

He has no idea what he wants anymore. He has his favourites.

Vickery kicks goals and no pressure, gets played every week because he kicks goals.
Lennon kicks goals and no pressure, needs to work on defensive side of his game.
McBean tackles and misses a couple of shots and it's he gets paid to kick goals.

:drunk:

Then he wonders why the players have no idea.

The time has come now when Penny and Beg started to move the shame and blame onto DH and his FD rather than the players. The players are there and then prepared by them. Excuses are over we are now resembling the Reject shop.
Time to rebuild using the dogs or Saints model. Discarding rubbish , trading Lids Sheds and Cotchin as they will only give us something decent and they cannot carry us further.
Only untouchables are Rance Jack and Dusty.
We, seven years ago were like the Dees now the Dees worked their rebuild differently bc of little talent to trade . They were in no hurry under Roos unlike us as Dan told us. The Dees instead went stockpiling kids of high quality and under Roos and have started to build a genuine list.
They're rebuild is in its third year and if they continue in this manner they will have a very competitive list. I see them a better side than the Tigers 2012 as their untapped talent is massive.
We need to move DH on now as we will be left for dead by GWS Saints Dogs Crows and Melbourne.
People in the club need to have a private body to come in and do a revue on the club and face the hard facts when the truth is pointed out to them .
Quote : Ricciuto " The bar is set too low at Punt Rd"

I would hire him in to start the process bc he was behind the dislodging of the ball cupper Sando and finding three coaches since ,Walsh Campo and Pike. Dunstall is also welcomed .
To solve failure you need the people behind the failures to be ousted as they haven't been able to find the causes which makes it impossible to find a solution.
It's blame and shame time for Beg Penny DH and FD not the players. REVIEW TIME PLEASE.

I guess we have to honour Damian's contract and let him coach next year as he is now a favourite son of the club

Not only that, the Club has a reputation for sacking Coaches so who would want to Coach there if they fired another one. Forgetting the fact the joint has only had 3 and one interim since the start of this millennia, but you know how those reputations go......

i think potential coaches would be licking their lips at the thought of such a strong list in year one

we could be top 4 next year with a new coach

If enough teams have a run of injuries the likes of which the Dogs and Suns have had this year, then sure. Anything is possible.

we gave him another year because we have made finals last 3 years, yes that was the right thing to do but now when we are failing all credits are gone!
Whole clean out of recruitment team and coaching team PLEASE!

it really wasn't, we did not win any finals we lost 3 in a row.

giving him 2 more years after losing 3 elims was rewarding failure and mediocrity. club should have let it pan out this year before they made their decision

We have only bet 1 team above this year is the more disappointing fact
