Yeah, that stop/slow style is a remnant of a time we couldn't stop teams from getting a run on. It was meant to be situational when it was first learnt but then it became too coached into them.... Then it became 'the way'. All teams look more dangerous when they run at sides.... we were legitimately dangerous in 12/13 by moving the ball quicker...

We need another Summer training it.... but it looks more natural for many of our players. On tonight's performance we just need more skilled guys but they need to be as hard and manic as we were. Lids, Titch, Yarran, Lennon, C.Ellis are all reasonably skilled but only Lids has shown a propensity to always go when it is his turn. McIntosh will. Moore, Hunt, Townsend, Lambert and Marcon will put their head over it most of the time but aren't always good enough to use it properly.

Hampson is a different matter. He is lucky he is the only half fit tall bloke we have at the moment... He was shocking in the first half against the Pies.... while his man was almost best on, taking the ball out of the ruck with ease and working him over around the ground. He did lift but I don't feel as though he is a legit AFL number 1 ruck....

Griff and TV are confusing still.... we play better with both but they rarely play well together. In my opinion we need one of them. Then bring in C.Moore or another as a better third tall option (or play Lids there for 10 years and watch him kick another 250 goals)
Only part i disagree with, don't remember these 3 pulling out ever and have watched Lennon go back with the flight with no fear. Forgot about McIntosh, him with Menadue, Short, Yarran, Castagna and Rioli plus Naish next year makes BEllis completely surplus to requirements. The Club needs to have the balls and pull the trigger on trading him, I rate him but I think his skill set is covered by those listed and he has enough value we can get Prestia who will help more as a pure mid.

Delete this if you want as I'm not supposed to post in this thread but not sure where else to post it:

You guys have offered Adem Yze an assistants role which is paying significantly higher than his current salary at the Hawks.
The Hawks have said they can't and won't match it and left Adem to make a decision.

That can stay as it offers some value to the thread.

I don't mean just at the contest.... I mean gut running, working to get to a contest, to pick up a man and to go when there is no chance you'll get the ball but you need to impact the contest.

B.Ellis will always be better when we are good... I thought he has looked more damaging of late with his possesions. As a high half forward/wing who works back. If you don't get value for him, then don't trade him. He loves the club and will play for less than others. He has shown a lot more than what he has this year (like a lot of his mates). I'd trade out Titch/Conca before him.... on age and impact in big games.

Shedward gut runs and never takes a backwards step, people miss that in his game because it can be so flashy, but otherwise i agree the other two are not at that level yet. I think CEllis can do it with an injury free run as he was a gut runner and hard worker at TAC level. Lennon the jury is still out on his appetite for the work.

I'd consider trading Conca and Titch as well. Reckon there is enough value in those 3 and Ty to actual have a strong trade period and get Prestia and a ruck without selling our picks.

Possibly I'm being a bit harsh on Titch.... just pissed off with his efforts in finals.

I prefer our own version of dealing with trolls. The richmond mob way :D
The mob has been placated tonight with a win and we are all to mellow to really deal with it. Of course had we lost i'd suspect about 8 of us would have got bans and he would have got a pat on the head.

Yeah true, but personally think apart from Carlton our finals have been lost before they even started due to shit tactics, poor selections and us being mentally shot.
