At the best and fairest last year whoever got an award would get up on stage and say how much they were going to be missing Benny Kinnear and they absolutely thought he was a top bloke
Do you Collingwood fans miss him

Most definitely not!

Why did we ever pick him in the first place?

Never at any stage showed he could cut it at AFL level.

I bet they were taking the ******** saying they were gonna miss him!

Oh he was outmarking 3 guys was he? Yep, in the Suburban Comp!

Put it this way:

Wayne Carey = Renowned as a shocking bloke, one of the, if not THE Greatest player ever!

Ben Kinnear = Good bloke apparently, out and out DUD!

As a supporter that doesn't have any interaction with any of the players I'd rather we have 22 Careys out there than 22 Kinnears out there!

Holla if ya's hear me!

Cheer Cheer Ben Kinnear!
Did you make that up, or hear it at the footy???

We loved chanting that all the time, it was great, started singing it all the way to Richmond station with our Banner when BK was going to play in the GF.

Kinnear was never a great footballer, but he was a survivor of the dreadful late 90's and came of age in 2001...retired because of injuries and was a mature footballer (despite not so much mature around the club, loved a laugh) and in the end caused him to retire. Not sure if he would have stayed on in 2005 with his 2nd year of contract, or may have been axed.

Sure miss him, has been playing footy down in Lalor i think.
