BTW Dogga79, it's probably me flying past you on The Golden Way down to Main North Road! I sometimes forget to put the brakes on and before you know it, you're doing 90.
There's NOTHING along that stretch of road so I have NFI why it's only an 80 zone.

What annoys me more is the flamin' idiots that do 60 side by side all the way UP that hill. I tend to flash more at them than at anything else. They've got their heads too far up their tails, to even notice sadly.

In Hahndy they always place a Camera under the Bridge, where its a straight road where it goes from 80 to 50. I have never seen or even heard of a crash on this part of the road. Ever.


About 5kms up that road there are crashes also every month, including a few deaths. NOW wouldn't it make more sense to place a speed camera up the road? Its mainly locals using this part of the road and they would become aware that a speed camera might be there, and slow down.

This is the most obvious sign of revenue raising.

I wouldn't mind more speed camera's on the freeway also, some poeple HOON along there, but there are only ever Cops just before the Hahndorf exit.

I laugh at the people that flash when there is no camera, just because they like to do 40 in a 60 zone. Someone wrote in the editorials of the Advertiser once saying how much they enjoy doing it.

I notice that safety cameras only appear on Bolivar Rd in the 50km/h area (most of the road is 60, but changes to 50 when you hit Salisbury North). it's easy money for the Police as sometimes it feels like I'm only one that does 50 in that area.

However, there were 3 accidents there last week so it's probably being used as a safety measure (though with the interesting location you could argue revenue raising too)

Thats where I got done, Tapleys Hill Rd Glenelg North. 5:30 in the morning, only bloke on the road where there is 4 lanes.

Hardly saving lives are they, felt like asking them when they stopped being a policemen and just became revenue raisers.

Dont worry mate if I ever see a camera around there I will flash my lights like a mad man.

I have on the odd occasion flashed at some hoon that was exceeding the speed limit by a fair margin, in the interest of safety rather than having seen a camera.

As someone who travels much of the length of Main North Road to Gawler everyday for work, I'm sick of clowns endangering other roads users so rarely flash any more. I'd only do it if the camera is in a ridiculous location.

Managed to get past 2 breath testers last week, in the same location on consecutive nights without being pulled over. Had not had a drink but struggle to get the bluddy thing to go off! Have been threatened with being locked up before for running out of breath before being told to stop!

Sometimes I over flash e.g Clarendon I'm falshing people and I'm 3km's from the speed camera! but I think everyone knows around that area if you falsh there a camera near the telstra thingo!

I always flash and always give the tiny wave of thanks!

Coming from the hills where they set 50km/h speed limits on roads that most definitely shouldn't be and then put a minimal # of speed signs with a maximal # of speed cameras on roads which I have travelled my entire life on practically every day of the week and never seen a crash, yeah, I tend to flash. Around the hills its just revenue raising, good luck gettin caught on a dangerous road, its only the safe ones they target, even around the city they do the same p***es me off big time.

I'm not saying I advertise speeding, I just think its unsafe for people to spend more time staring at their speedos than the road, in most cases, doing up to 10 km/h over the speed limit isnt too much of a big thing, over that and I have no problem with speed cameras doing their job.

Anyway now i live on the Gold Coast, speed cameras are a thing of the past, seen about 2 in the past year, red light cameras arn't coupled with speed cameras. People treat speed limits as guides up here, not rules.
