Obviously most people want one side or the other to win, particularly on this board. But I get the impression that most people are pretty meh about it.

Elections are often pretty passionate affairs, particularly on messageboards, and there's usually a few people threatening to emigrate if the wrong side wins. But I sort of get the impression that not that many people think it will be the end of the world if their side doesn't get up.

So - do you really care?

Yeah, I care for 3 reasons.

1. I was duped into voting for Rudd and Labor at the last election. I fell for the spin.

2) From everything I read about Abbott, he appears to be a genuine person with some old-fashioned values, which is actually a good thing, because there are a lot more pricks today with new-age values running around. A firey and a life-saver .. his actions speaks louder than Gillard's words and their attempted character assasination.

3) Labor's contempt for everyday Australian's. It's been lie after lie after lie after disaster after disaster after disaster, but it's working!

No kids, not married - who gives a shit.

At this point it's informal, or wondering who can screw things up the worst for my entertainment.

Not really, as long as McKew is booted. The world will be little different under either tone of Howard Lite.

However, the current arse clowns are economic vandals, so getting rid of the white elephant NBN, Ken Henry and a serious purge of the lunatics in Treasury would be good.

And last but not least, a coalition win would be hilarious, both for the ALP blood letting and the reaction here. :D

I don't want Tony Abbott to be PM, that's basically it. A very uninspiring campaign led by uninspiring leaders on both sides.

I don't really care any more. I'm equally disillusioned with both sides of politics.

I hold little hope for visionary, competent or effective government whichever side gets in.

I guess I'd lean towards Labor if pushed, but I won't be voting for them.

Just hoping it is one of those US elections where Larry King goes home at 1 am and the rest of them are there at 3am trying to figure out who won :)

I'm excited by the idea of a photo finish, but couldn't give a shit either way. Neither side deserves it. Hoping for a nil all draw.

I am a Liberal voter but want Labor to win. The Coalition are not ready to govern in my opinion. In saying that, I am looking forward to a heavy swing against, with Turnbull bringing the A Team in 2013.

A few months ago I decided that I could live with myself more easily if I preferenced Abbott over Rudd. It was quite an important moment in my young political life.

Now I'm having second thoughts. Abbott simply had to play a small target role and he couldn't even get that right. Cutting funding to education? Promising maximum levels of asylum-seeking boats? Giving money away to long-term unemployed? A $6b stop-gap internet policy?

The ALP deserve an absolute spanking... but if we elect in Abbott despite knowing the guy is a loony tune, and then he goes mad with power, then we will deserve a spanking for what we have unleashed on Australia.

At least Kevin07 promised something new and worthwhile and refreshing. Abbott is promising little more than some of the worst elements of the Howard reign.

Polls open in 330 minutes and I am still undecided.

I do care greatly who gets in the Senate though. Very much.

I hear what you are saying but ...

Interviewed by The Australian yesterday, the Opposition Leader said he would retain Ken Henry as Treasury secretary, and use his landmark report to produce a tax reform plan within 12 months.

I dislike Gillard a lot. If that's the best we have to offer up to rule our nation we are up struggling.

Having said that the only thing that really worries me is the Greens getting the balance of power.

I ****ing well hate socialists :D

He is part of the Liberal Party end of story The Liberal Party are renowned for not giving a shit about the poor and only caring about the rich. I hate the Liberal Party and have done so since John Howard was in Power.
