Social Science Do you say 'g'day' to your neighbours?

Now, as far as 'calling the cops on them' they rarely did anything wrong: usually finished by 11 (often on the dot) never past midnight. But carrying on outside like that when you know us and know we have kids, when you could easily just have drinks inside, you're being c**ts as far as I'm concerned. Or you're - at the very least - showing that you don't give a rat's arse about your neighbours.

Agree , if it is happening every weekend.

Not sure everyone else has to live sombre, quiet lives to suit your kids tbh. If i have people over, we're outside. If its done by 11, fair play imo. Seems pretty reasonable

Yes. Went to a BBQ at the neighbour's house two doors up on Saturday night. There were people from another five houses there as well.

We live in a court and used to speak to almost everyone and knew everyone by their name. Even had street parties every christmas. Now, most of the originals have moved, passed away etc. Different vibe now, though we still wave/speak to 3 or 4 of our neighbours, out of about 14 households.

If by g'day you mean * off.

Neighbour has never set foot in the house (bought from Shanghai and has left it vacant as a tax dodge/residency points if he needs to flee) and the other side is a nice Indian couple but we just know then to wave to Other than that, street is full of empty homes owned by people overseas, total strangers and the boss who we avoid most of all (nice bloke but u don't need to see the boss away from work)
