Achilles problem.

Bring on Johnny Meese for his first crack at the big time :thumbsu:

It won't be Meesen IMO.

Maric has earned the right to replace Clarke if the opportunity does come up.

Well and truly earned it.

I'll probably get bagged for this but good, Docs form isnt too bad but a youngster could be doing just as good work (and better around the ground) and its perfect for Ivan to have another crack or Meese for his debut, but probably Ivan due to his form.

wouldn't you say if Meeson was seen to have better attributes that the AFC need he would get the gig ?

Just a simple case of performance v attributes.

Maric has the performance at this stage.

Just on Clarke, I'd be surprised if he hasn't been carrying this achilles heel injury for some time now!!
Totally agree and think the AFC was waiting for the right opportunity ....a state game rest week would have also freshened Maric up....timing perfect

Yes but Craig is very much about earning your opportunity.

Every player in the squad knows Maric should get the opportunity ATS over Meesen.

Doesn't mean Meesen will not end up the better player of the 2.

Both young ruckmen have shown superb improvement this year, a rate at which has surprised most of us.

Hopefully whoever gets the call up shows some good form on the park.

Don't be shocked if the Meese gets a nod.

Whilst I agree that Maric has shown more in the SANFL as a whole, Meese has been burning it up in the last few weeks, increasing his output by almost 20% IMO. Whilst Iva-rn had a couple of sloppy games where he was a touch lazy playing for the maggies.

Either way I'm happy :thumbsu:

I wouldn't be unhappy with that. He'd be the 4th Crow to debut this year, following in the footsteps of Vince, Porplyzia and Maric. Can't remember the last time we had so many debutants in one season, with potentially one or two more later in the year (Douglas being the most likely).

With our lack of tall options, and considering we play Essendon this week we could consider bringing in BOTH of them

It reminds me of the thread - release the meese.

Big Ivan will get the nod, but the Meese may even strike a spot on the emergiencies bench.

This may provide even further incentive for the young man in the next few weeks.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't

We don't have much tall timber that is healthy so I suspect the emergencies to be Meesen, Torney and Skipworth.

Reidy said on the news that both Maric and Meesen will be seriously looked at.
The Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!!!!!!! :D

This is great news, Clarke was been in a form slump for a good 10 years now and either one of the youngsters thoroughly deserve an opportunity to play for the Crows.
