indeed, its shanes site.

unfortunately, as with any forum, its also belongs to the posters who provide the content. im all in favour of moderation when there is going to be children posting on the site, and with a football fan site there is sure to be a certain amount of disrespectfull trolling that can be culled. but censorship of valid opinions by other fairminded users is another beast entirely.

the chinese government is currently in a long internet censorship battle, any site, and especially forums, that insults or questions the regime, the way of life or any other aspect of communist china is shut down. acceptable topics, like chinese nationalism and anti-japanese vitriol is encouraged.

Are your balls as halfbaked as your ideas?

Anyone seriously comparing Dockerland and the Chinese Communist government needs to get into Trent Croad's bedroom, tip their head back and have a GOOD HARD LOOK AT THEMSELF.

It's been said here dozens of times, "if you don't like it, don't go there" Simple !!

But don't come on this site and scream blue murder ! Don't say Dockerland is strictly for those who follow the party line ! I'm living proof of the opposite !! As many here can attest to. If you can't fit into the 'in crowd', give up. Grab your ball and go home and cry ! Life is not an easy thing, nor is barracking for Fremantle.

the great thing about DL is that on any "usual" day, we wouldn't have to put up with that crap. Shane must have been taking some of the advice dished out here by all you nongs who can't handle his rules on his site.

Dutchey you go back to you crap forum . Dockerland & Shane are not Freo supportters in the true sense . I think your getting upset at this little backlash against that pathetic site. DL is not the voice of Freo Supportters. Dockerland is the voice of a few net nerds who are an insignificant lot in the whole scheme of things . To say they are the voice of Freo supportters is laughable.
The thing your buddies have got to get through there thick skulls why people are having a whinge here is because as a "forum" debate and the like is always gonna happen . Dont even talk about the rules about DL. Cause there aint any there & if there are post the link . Shane ( aka Jack Van Tongeran ) hasnt even got the intestinal fortitude to put up the rules because he knows that regular punters who aint in his little movement group who actually follow the rules know then what can be posted. Putting rules up means Shane has actually set guidelines of what people can work on. Shane doesnt want that.

OK Imperial Purple go get me that link for the rules !!!

Dutchy, there is a lot of things you post that I agree with - but not Dockerland. One is not allowed to have an opinion that is different to Shanes. When you get on your soapbox, you are one of the fortunate ones to not have it deleted. Most of ours are. So he can jam it.

I no longer go there and it is good to see you guys posting in here too as I enjoy the banter and different views. Like many, I am not interested in insulting anybody but enjoy the different opinions and views.

I will not be sorry to see Dockerland fold up.

My favourite thread is on the go again and Freo Hitman is back! What an awesome day!

Rob - Had a look in DL yesterday and noticed there was not a lot of traffic. Probably to be expected at this time of year, no doubt it will be busy again once the wiz fiz begins.

The thrust of the argument against Dockerland is that it should publish everything. The argument's foundation is that there is some right to be published. Where did that come from? Prior to the Internet, access to publishing in any media was limited. A good thing to because it limited access to people who had something interesting to say and could say it some reasonably informed and articulate manner.

Given the responses in this thread you can see that Shane's editing might be a good thing. Freo Hitmans response in this thread is a tantrum. Jarman is taking his ball and going home because his uninformed diatribes can't get a run. Look, they wouldn't get a run in any forum other than the Internet. Try sending them to the West Australian. Not every letter to the Editor gets a run. I can't follow why Shane needs to be held to a different standard.

And Dutchey is spot on. If you are still into chucking tantrums because you can't get what you want then maybe Dockerland isn't the place for you.

Dr Ralph Dagg - what is the point of posting a view on Dockerland when it is deleted every time. Dockerland is for a select few.

Provided the post is focused on football performance, results, information or club issues and it does not contain bad language or attacks someone personally - why the hell edit or delete it.

Different points of view and banter is what a board is all about.

Wonder if you would go there if you had your posts were continually deleted.
 
It's shanes website, I still don't understand why people feel they should have the right to post on there.

He has a specific feel he wants his website to have and he achieves this by manipulating the message board to conform to his standards.

he is a dictator but he isn't taking over boards and forcing people to participate under his rules.

I find dockerland good for a laugh, useless for opinions and arguements.
