You write some funny st*t at times MM :D

This forum could do with a bit of Shane's editing a times. Start with a total ban on Pork and wet toast.

The Cockburn post was classic Mish (before it was deleted that is)

Everyone moaning about being edited wants to get the stats on how many times my stuff gets the arse.

lemon has, however, got the record.

The rest of us are mere pretenders in the Annoying Shane stakes.

Just out of curiosity, why does he delete so much stuff (or does he?)

Granted, I wish the deletion policy on BF was a good deal stricter - might weed out a fair percentage of the **********e that's posted here.

Does he delete mainly because he considers some posts crap or is it more for legal reasons, or the fact that he just considers stuff to be irrelevant to his version of a Dockers fansite?

The obvious answer is, I suppose, that I should ask Shane - but that would mean I would have to register on DL.

Anyway, it's his site, he foots the bill and puts the time and effort into it so he can do what he likes - more power to him.

Just because you might have an open house day doesn't mean you can't vet the people who come through your front door.

You're meant to keep it to the footy but the tangential links can be stretched if you're being funny enough.

So any cyber friendship stuff gets immediately canned - flirting and flaming.

Racing is, of course, allowed. Gambling in general but specifically racing, nags or dishlickers, because - as everyone knows - Fremantle and the neddies are pretty much synonymous. (There was an article in The West the other week about Freo's long and close involvement in the horseracing industry).

Anything too inflammatory or disparaging of the Dockers gets the boot - no matter where it comes from. You can say pretty damning things of the club if you say them in a humorous way but just shyteing on it is not on.

And that's fair enough.

Log on, Exeter, you gay man. The sledging's fine....

I'll be back at DL come the footy season... Top site.

I love Dockerland Punting the most though!

I think I can post whatever I want, and I know if it will be deleted or not.

I'd still like to know what exactly a lanyard is though.

I don't know .... do they serve a nice mango daiquiri there?

Actually the gay taunt I can put up with. Hell, even accusations of pedophilia are water off a duck's back.

But how would I tell my wife and kids that I've logged onto a Docker's fansite?

And let me just get this straight MM - you, a manly, blokey resident of the port city with a blue singlett, thongs, tatts and a prison record are inviting me, a girly chardonnay swiller onto the Dockerland site?

Well I'll be buggered - (so to speak).

A cord around your neck for holding a whistle or similar (or it was when I was in Sea Scouts). There might be wider applications of the word. I've only looked at the last couple of pages of this thread so don't know the context it was used in.

Correct in this case PS, Being a sea scout you should know that lanyard is the yachting (nautical) term for a rope. ;)

All Eagles members recieved one this year as a gift in their membership packs to hold their membership cards.

No doubt you shockers will follow suite, as you normally do, and get your gay purple ones next year also.

oh you are funny e4e... i do believe it is you lot who have followed "suite", as we set the stunning new trend when we received them last year.

So just rermember, when you're hanging your spectacularly mediocre combination bluenyella lanyard around your neck.... you're only copying us cos we did it first. ;)

Trolling is much more effective if you do your homework. You won't look like a complete d*ckhead then.

So, Hitman, here is your opportunity, on this marvelous space for freedom, democracy, encyclopaedia-reading and oligarchy hating, to tell us your fantastically contentious ideas and points of view that this Nazi Dictator Evil Hitler Type Shane won't let you print on Dockerland.

Go for it, son.

Instead of bitching like a nannygoat with its teats caught in the mangler, get to work. What have you got to say?

Mission Man - The problem with I have is a small one with Shane & if it was corrected and adhered too we wouldnt get these lame threads bagging the place. The problem is there seems to be no rules anywhere on the site for theforum . Every other forum worth there grain of salt lays down the law and punters work within the rules , you break the rules you get edited / deleted no problem . Shane is not stupid by any stretch of the imagination . If he wants his forum just to be for the "lads" why promote it ??? why even have a forum ???
As for what I have wanted to post there , any specific topic that had been news of the day or up coming news ( posts too numerous to count or even recall ) just wasnt good enough , possibly not forum worthy, I am sure though the average 14 yo kid who logs on to the site would be wrapped to get the hot tip at Warragul on monday though , or even The Barra bashing which really acheives nothing perhaps even giving him more recognition than he deserves.
Now MM post a link for the forum rules or my or others views about the sites forum will not change. Shane fools no one.

Shane's law is, if you're one of his favourite posters, or you are absolutely pro-Freo and have no criticism then you may post. But if you say something he doesn't like he'll delete it. Mish, you have to admit that he deletes posts for no reason, then can't offer a good reason as to why.
Posters like Lemon, and Dutchey and yourself, Mish, are always way off topic on Dockerland, but because Shane likes what you've said, he'll keep the post on. However, if anyone else tries to join in, he'll delete it and call it spam.
A couple of times I have read a post by someone that wasn't completely alligned to the subject, and when I read the same topic again about half an hour later it is gone.
Shane is simply, a man who owns a forum, and thus can do what he likes with it. Can't blame him, I'd probably do the same thing. But he's not much of a moderator now, is he?

I expect my really tangential stuff to get deleted. I put it on to amuse whoever sees it for however long it is there. I like the fact that some of these things are only seen by the addicted - the unlucky few.

I think the difficulty some of you seem to be having is that the freaks like lemon and myself, who live on the joint, appear to be able to get away with anything - but only to the people who only drop in for a bit.

Living there, I see stuff from lemon that gets deleted instantly and I know I get stuff deleted instantly. All the time.

It doesn't bother me. It's part of a game that - if you don't know "the rules" - may annoy or mystify you. The rules aren't written down. That's also part of the game. If you don't get it, then, frankly, that's too bad. Not everything in life is going to be set up and layed out nice and straight to suit your view of the world.

I'm actually a novice to the Internerd and only really spend time on it because of Dockerland. I wasn't aware there were "rules" and a "way" that forums were meant to operate so I may be coming at this from a different angle but let me let you in on a secret.

There really are no rules. Things can be however they are. There are no guidelines you must fit in with if you are allowed to continue. Shane's doing whatever the hell he wants to do and if that doesn't fit in with how you want things to be, whose problem is that?

(As for the stuff that isn't completely aligned to a topic that gets deleted - it's not always deleted. Shane often moves stuff into the one thread to prevent multiple threads on the same topic. If you were too lazy to see if there is a a thread already going on something, then, well, maybe you're too lazt to see where it has been moved to.)

As for you, Freo Hitperson. I wasn't asking you to rehash your arguments against Dockerland. I was asking you to post the stuff you need to say on Dockerland that are deemed so controversial they get deleted.

Just a sample. All I seem to read from you on here is stuff about other people's mums and whingeing about Dockerland.

Surely that's not it?

No, just the civil way out. Just because someone talks to you in an abusive manner does not mean you have to respond in the same way.
Normally i may not of even said "lighten up", but i have had a really bad night with my dog being hit by a car leaving me no choice but to have him euthanized, and feeling pretty crappy about everything in general at the moment.

Easy mish, I believe you've made a post on dockerland which seems hypocritical in comparisons,

And what do you with posts like this?

I think not, Carny. I think you keep coming back for the saucy lanyard talk.

Don't listen to a word he gets his mum to type, CMON.
