Seems to me like you're deliberately missing my point. Freo Hitperson swaggered on here with a grab-bag of old-school "Yo momma"-isms.

I on the other hand have never even thought having sex with Carny's mum and, indeed, feel ill mentioning it.

I don't have a problem with shane's editing policy. When I first started posting there, when I posted here more, I can remember having a big stoush with the regulars about Northerly and the "vibe" of Fremantle. I had just composed a 35-line rebuttal that was going to leave those lavender freaks quivering in the crushing grip of reason, when I went to post it I found that the last two hours of the discussion had just vanished. I was exchanging PM's with a regular there and I commented that I was a bit surprised with what I thought was shane's harsh editing. He said that the discussion was actually getting pretty boring. Which, when I thought about it, it was.

The moral of the story? Just because what we say is important to us, doesn't mean that it's important to others. It can be hard to give your 2c and find that it's ignored, but that happens in all walks of life. When you think about it, nobody in life really has a right to be heard.

Mish's post to Exeter about the editorial policy is pretty much spot-on, except he left out that emoticons are always edited and usually lead to post deletion. Which is only right, because they suck. Before writing the site off, go there and get a feel for what works and what doesn't. Listen before speaking. It's not like the regulars pay subscriptions, I suspect that they don't even know each other outside the site - they just have something to contribute that fits with the vibe, is funny, and/or informative.

I apologise then Mish, all I saw was 'things about mums' and linked it to something you said. Didn't realize we were going all old school. Though the comment about 'deliberately missing the point' made me laugh.
I do remember that in the early days Carny, you used to have your posts deleted, even though sometimes they were pretty hilarious, but these days, your style of comedy has accommodated to fit the atmosphere.
My main concern is that, whereas it is good to delete posts by people who come on saying 'FREO TEH SUX TEAM', whenever constructive criticism is posted, or a fan wants to vent their frustration at a narrow loss, it's deleted for being too extreme. I don't think that is particularly good moderating. I'm not a person that's all the rights, don't get me wrong, rights should be limited to prevent people from misusing them. But there should be slightly more flexibility on Dockerland when it comes to posting an opinion, otherwise it's engineered so you are posting an opinion that is akin to the forum. You'll actually find there is an incredible amount of repetition on that site.
 
Shane can do as he likes and moderate the way he wants (although I'm still ********ed off about him leaving me high and dry without right of reply when Dockerland started slagging me off personally - if the moderating was fair he'd have deleted the entire thread which I'd have been fine about). OK, its different to how other sites moderate, but hell, anything is better than what the main board here at BigFooty has become - a pale shadow of what it used to be.

btw. I can't believe this thread has lasted this long.
 
No honestly, I heard it myself from my mate who knows a guy who used to play for the Western Bulldogs and he knows the footy manager Crooky from Hawthorn.....next year Judd is being traded to Essendon for Dean Rioli and a third round pick ....sorry wrong thread.

& BTW Mission Man I have answered your question about what I wanted to put across at Dockerland and it was nothing to do with the management of the forum , it was somehting to do with the politics of the club or just general info which may have proved useful to other members if answered correctly. One thread of which I started which was deleted was "rebirthed" by Shane himself. 3 weeks later .
So Mission Man dont come back with your dismissive attitude , come back with the facts that Dockerland aint infact a dictatorship of a site . Dont urinate in our ears no longer .

Shane hung from an anchor is a bit far but for him to stop claiming Dockerland is the Voice of Fremantles supportters is a start.
The longer that site goes on claiming that mud the more and more it is we see this stuff !!!
No one seems to wanna discuss the policies of that board.
Shane refuses to come here to speak cause he knows he cant muzzle the crew here !!


I dare Shane to come here and explain his stance and not ridicule anyone

I have alreayd said that all Dockerland talk is to happen in this thread and only this thread. Saves people starting other threads which they undboutably will and saves threads with topics nothing to do with Dockerland from being hijacked.
So its better just to leave it open and let people vent here.

I think you'll find he hasn't. I think you'll find you're a bit upset that no-one considers you the "voice of Fremantle supporters" and you're getting a bit mixed up.

while I will maintain that it's shane's site to moderate how he sees fit, and that those who dont like it should just stay away, not sure how and why I have been included by you as part of this discussion.

I post there maybe once a day, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. I have posts occasionally edited or deleted, but i like the site so I go there. It amuses me. That's as far as your conspiracy theory extends as far as my part in it all is concerned.

Get a grip (on reality that is).
