Really? I popped in about a month ago and none of the usernames were the regulars from when the site was really popular 4-5 years ago.

I'd visit there about once every 2 months now. It used to be the only forum I'd visit.
i just checked bigfootys stats an it was something like 86% australians so not sure why it would be wrong for dockerland.
Maybe dockerland means something in chinese??

I've just registered on this site & it's like a breath of fresh air.
I gave up on DL ages ago cos nearly everything I posted got deleted.
The best example of this was when I posted a thread on match day asking if anybody knew if The Bill Walker Room would be open for a swift beer or 2 at half time, as it didn't say if it was open on the Freo website. 'Controversial stuff indeed' I thought! 'I wonder what kind of hornets nest I could be stirring up here...?'
There must have been a power cut at Shane's house or something because it took nearly half an hour for my impertinent and contentious rant to be deleted! Surely he could have grabbed a laptop, jumped into the car, and sped around the neighbourhood looking for an unsecured wireless network to log onto, thus sparing any of the DL clique the embarrassment of having to read my inane ramblings??

Sums the site up perfectly. It's good to see that the media isn't quoting it anymore. It became ridiculous for a while. **** Dockerland.

But I agree, Dockerland DOES NOT represent the views of all Fremantle supporters and discussion should always be embraced if you ask me....

Yep, 6 years on and people are still posting on this thread about how terrible a website Dockerland is. Up yours Shane!

After reading through this after a while ive decided to add my 2 cents worth.
Alot of people seem to love Dockerland and a fair few seem to despise it like it dunnyflushed them in grade 5. I for one love dockerland the humour is great, theres generally a good vibe about it and theres always a few people backing my oppinion up and also a few totally disregarding it (sounds awfully similar to this post). What I cant understand though is the people complaining about freedom of speech. Dockerland is like an apprenticeship you get some people that instantly expect it to be smooth sailing and act accordingly then get cut, the others put some effort into it and then learn the trade and end up becoming a skilled poster of dockerland.
I also love bigfooty, but its a much more broad subject of footy, whereas dockerland seems to be specific subjects with the faithful talking about it in different terms. Abit like bigfooty being your friends and Dockerland being a family, some things you can talk about to your friends, and not your family, but the families got some ongoing chats that your friends wouldnt understand.
Just my 2 cents... Be looking forward to any comments coming my way about it.

Fair enough DT. So you do a 4 year apprenticeship where you agree with Shane's POV and never criticise the club then after that you're allowed an opinion.
For what it's worth I think Dockerland was full of humour and enjoyable banter but when things got a bit shakey in 2005 and people wanted to debate the important issues it became lame and many of the regulars stopped posting.

Back in about 2005 I asked the question "who would you prefer as a coach instead of Chris Connolly". This got deleted.
I posted it again thinking I had posted it incorrectly.
It got deleted again.
I contacted them DL gods to be via email.
I got told I couldn't ask that question.
Huh??????????
So I worded it differently. "If CC was to leave for greener pastures, who would you prefer as coach?".
Deleted again.
DL - "Sorry, you can't ask that question either."
"Why not?"
DL - "You just can't. We won't allow anything that will destabilise the coach."
An argument via email ensued debating what was apparently acceptable and what wasn't and I haven't been back since.
I hope it rots from the inside out.

I'm not sure what drugs Dump Truck is on, but your Dockerland experience has been told hundreds of times by people on this thread.

well, all i can say is thank you Shane. I never new BogFooty existed until Shane mentioned it one of his edited posts.
I didnt think this deserved its own thread so i dug this one up ( sorry) but i am happy i found some where i can post, with a REAL forum.
Sick of my posts being deleted/edited even when not inflammatory, just when it doesnt suit the admin.
so, i will still read the match reports and stuff, coz they can be funny, and i might browse the forum from time to time, but over it.
Seriously, one knobber on there recons he lost all respect for a guy coz he didnt have anything against the new jumpers. ffs.
