Give me quality of quantity of draft picks any day.

If Freo are willing to give up 19 in this proposed deal, I would be asking for a future 2nd round pick from the Crows instead of a pick in the 30s or so in this year's draft.

AFL really need to introduce teams to be able to trade draftees on the day.

Example might be, GWS want Andrew and other teams want Callaghan.

GWS pick Callaghan and Fremantle has pick 6 (8) select Andrew. Both teams trade Callaghan plus change for Andrew.

Why would the Dockers not grab Amiss with both hands while they can? I mean they have been desperate for a key forward for years and years, and now they have a WA prospect that will be available at pick 6.

not sure you understand the premise of a draft batting deep. That’s 1 round. Most “draft experts” are only expecting 50-55ish live picks at absolute most. That’s not deep.

some handy names there, no exposed form for most.

IMO it’s a draft where there’s significant value outside of the top 10 as no players had the chance to rise up the rankings with a standout carnival etc.

So 4 for 6 & 19… nah

Thinking on it, are Freo after Callaghan? If they got our pick 4 for 6 & 19 (maybe even getting pick 33 back?, it leaves you guys with 4, 8 and maybe 33. GWS might be temped to switch pick 2 and 13 for your 4 and 8. If Freo was ultra keen on Callaghan, that is very attractive offer for GWS I would have thought assuming they still get their guy at 4...just spitballing
