Freo with a lil kick to kick downeed Port by about 6 goals.

Carrs played well, Pav pretty good.

Our defence was very good, forwards still need some work and some goal kicking practice.

Well done, have to say I didnt tip you guys espially after last few games v port. I only saw the highlights on the 5th qauter but they showed Pav doing some good things at CHF and said he'd kicked 3. How do you guys think he went and if hell stay at CHF for the rest of the season? Also saw the Carr's had 50 odd possies between them Well done and good luck for the rest of the season (except rounds 3+20!)

Pav was fantastic, I am trying not to get too excited abut his performance as it is only round 1.
Hadrill injury could be very costly.

What I thought was a good sign this game was that the midfield were actually hitting targets with accurate kicking. Heath black's left foot kicks were deadly

We may have been undermanned once we lost two players early, but that was the best we could do. So that means you beat the best we could put up against you.

On another note, you will soon find out why we have always said that Josh Carr was underrated. Tonight was nothing out of the ordinary for him. he is like that week in week out.
Anyway, well done. You do finally look like a good side. Keep that up and you'll go far this year. FWIW I tipped you lot to finish higher than West Coast.

At the end of the season and your firmly entenched somewhere in the top 4 the last thing you want is an injury. So a bit of keepingoff is sensible.

I minute to go and your margin is only 8 points keepingoff is sensible.

But the 1st game with 3 minutes to go a margin that is not going to be overtaken the message should have been lets try and sink them. Something over the years Freo has a problem with. We have to make teams hurt. Be seen as a team that will play not only to win but will sink teams at every chance. Play footy until the siren goes.

Having said that. You little bewdy. Great win.

I thought Freo played very well, played aggressively at times and kept control of the game for the most part. I recall getting a bit of a smirk and a couple of snide remarks about our beloved team from two port supporters on the way to the game, something about us being "slapped all over the park".

Well... Don´t really think I need to say anything in reply now.

Very well done Freo, I walked out of Subi with a massive feeling of pride for our blokes!!

I like to clarify my midfield wide statement. What i meant is the dockers run wide, seem look for easy kicks out wide and looked to go wide at every opportunity. IMO that style of play won't win you finals.
On Pav, he played really well, i just hope he continues
I don't sit in block 312, what makes you a expert.
On boing A) why would you risk injury for really very little gain B) we would have had to kick to a contest which may have resulted in a turnover. C) why would you boo a team that just won a game of football

BB I don't claim to be an expert but I do know that I know my Football,unlike some others here.
What is the matter with being a supporter of one of OUR players.If you watch the game with an open mind and look for the good rather than the bad then you might just find that Macca is in fact a very good and valuable player to OUR team.You along with so many live in the past when after two Knee recos Macca was not the best player we had and may still not be,but at all times he never gave less than 100% to OUR team.Take the blinkers off and look at the game as whole.
On the fact that the Dockers run the clock down I have no comment.Other sides do so why not us.I just think it took a bit of the gloss off our performance last night.I would have prefered to see them try to grind them in a bit more.Maybe percentage will count later in the season.
As for your comment another Macca lover,let me tell you sunshine i would prefer to be a supporter of ALL OUR players rather than bag someone because you don't like them.Support them all.

Maybe percentage will count later in the season.

I support fremantle football club not any individual player.
IF schammer/cook were due back next week i know who i would replace them with.
What are you talkin about with percentage, we could have quite easily have coughed the ball up and port score, So Chipping the ball around may have saved us percentage. Port scoring 6 points would have decreased our percentage far more than us kicking a goal would have increased it.

This has reminded me.
A good thing to come out of the game, was that player were telling team mates when thing weren't perfect (in as nice as a way as possible). For example Pav took a mark with bell going back with the flight( i think he ended up kicking a goal) but Bell still had a go at him for not talking.
There were two or three other occasions that i saw things like this happen. I think is is good, that fremantle is no longer accepting just average performances, there is always room for improvement, especially in a team that fail to make the 8 last year
What i don't think is acceptable is players bagging/arrogant team mates when things go wrong, e.g when a player turn over the footy he doesn't need to be told that he is crap
