According to the Age:
"The AFL yesterday publicly reversed its policy on sold-out games at Colonial Stadium, saying they would not be automatically transferred to the MCG."

The AFL reversing a hastily made promise when they realise the fans might be better off and the AFL's hip pocket worse off? Never...

They have to do something about the Level 2 seats. At the Ess-Port game 90% of them weren't filled...that might even be conservative. Even half the level 1 seats are empty.

If Level 1 and 2 are not sold out within two hours of bouncedown, FAIR GAME I say.

Steathy,

The problem with your suggestion is that it wouldn't be fair for the people that paid considerible money for the seats on levels 1 and 2, especially those who have forked out for season reserved seats. So for others to come in and sit on those levels without paying as much cash as others would not be right.

In Essendon case, all of the level one seating is sold-out, except for the AFL members (I'm fairly sure of this). However, some people chose not to go to certain matches so that's why you see some empty seats at the stadium.
