So I watched King of Kong after many recommended it.

If I ever meet Billy Mitchell, I am going to punch that little ****er in the face.

Really enjoyed the doco though!

Last night, I was watching this doco on the disappearance of Michael Rockefeller in Papua New Guinea, when I remembered a cracker I saw some years back - 'keep the river on your right: a modern cannibal tale'.

Definitely worth a look.

It was interesting how the doco started off with Billy looking like a saint and ended up with him looking like an arseh*le. It felt more like a mocumentary rather than something that was based on true events though.

I used last evening as a documentary night.

First out, was ‘Secret Pakistan – Double Cross’, this is an awesome report on the ISI (Pakistani Intelligence Agency), and how they have double crossed the US since 2001 (and earlier). This is a must watch for people with no knowledge of the issue. It pretty much proves that Pakistan is responsible for killing ‘coalition’ soldiers in Afghanistan, by training and arming the Taliban in Pakistan. It is even more disturbing given that we have sent Iraq into oblivion and about to send Iran into oblivion, when our focus should be on Pakistan.

While I was in the US in 2007, I spoke to a recently retired Pakistani General, he told me that at that time the US had dispersed agents across Pakistan to ‘secure’ the nuclear facilities, which America was concerned could be used by the Taliban. This report proves that information correct.

Further, going into Iran will be a mistake, how many Americans has Iran killed? Yet, Pakistan continues to get off scot-free, with America continuing to provide billions of dollars of aid (including military aid), which in turn is used to attack and kill American soldiers. I find this disturbing and disgusting.

This is about the alleged AFP and ABC media corruption and coverup over the shapelle corby case.

Admittedly, I always thought she was guilty so I found the content in this alarming and entirely depressing (if true - and it seems to be).

Warning - there are some annoying aspects of this doco. E.g. the narrator, between every revelation of a cover up, appears (dressed in corporate attire) on screen for 2 seconds and says "and there's more"

The formula goes
1. "revelation................."
2. a picture of a police badge
3. the narrator "and there's more"
4. a picture of a police badge
5. "revelation..............."

repeat

It's actually funny

There is some good content in the documentary

I've just watched this recently and I agree, it was compelling viewing. And pretty disturbing as well. The laughable pauses and shit production aside, the factual content looked to be very damning and I was left feeling sorry for Schapelle and her family. Excellent find, Nicky.:thumbsu:

Thanks but i actually found this on the SRP board.

Capturing the Friedmans. It's about the conviction of a married man with children for *******ing young boys in a computer class, which he held in the basement of his house. His youngest son was also convicted.

The thing is the father, arnold friedman was a self confessed non-practicing pedophile and landed on the cops radar when child pr0n was intercepted from the Netherlands, which was on its way to his home. They searched his place, found more child pr0n as well as a classroom set up for children’s computer classes.

The cops found a list of addresses belonging to the children whom attended the classes. They went around and interviewed them.

Many kids said they were abused however its not clear this wasn't a result of the approach the cops used to interview the kids - there's scientific evidence that children will admit to being sexually abused if asked in a certain way.

It's a great documentary.

Paradise Lost 1,2 & 3.

Amazing series of documentaries based on the real life murder and mutilation of 3 young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas back in 1993.

The film makers gained access and exposure at the time to both the local detectives heading the investigation, as well as the 3 teenage boys accused of the crimes. The movie has so much unwitting social commentary on multiple levels, that the series probably deserves repeat viewings.

Tragic is probably the best summation of the story and people involved, so it's not for everyone.

West Memphis 3?

Hi all,

I'm currently in a pretty good situation - I have free, unlimited and very fast internet (a perk of being overseas!) with a new hard drive begging to be filled.

Can people suggest interesting doco's to download? Can be on life, history, any sports, politics, environment, drugs, random interesting people, engineering feats... anything! I've just downloaded a bunch of David Attenborough doco's and am looking for any interesting one off/series doco's.

I'm in the middle of downloading one recommended to me called 'Alone In The Wilderness' which is about some guy who went off into the woods to live for 30 years, building huts himself etc... apparently he puts Bear Grylls to shame.

So what are your favourite Doco's?

Apologies if these have been mentioned. All three are masterpieces imho.
The World at War - The seminal war doco. Trawl the torrents sites and get the 65gb 720hd version. It's worth every minute you will wait to get it.
Blue Planet - Attenborough at his finest. About 35 gb.
Civilization: A personal journey - Outstanding. About 40gb.

Watched all 3 last week. Great doco's and its fascinating to see how they went from being convicted as kids to being in their 30's in the 3rd still in jail.

Absolutely amazing how they were tried and convicted considering the amount of evidence against them. Incredibly amatuer. I can't say if they were 100% innocent or guilty because these doco's tell you what they want you to think but what I took from it mostly was that it was ridiculous that just because you have black hair and wear black clothing you are charged with sexually mutilating and killing 3 young boys.

The thing I wasn't quite sure about was that Damien, Jesse and Jason were all convicted with capital murder but during the trial Jesse's 'fake' confession which they used to convict him, he said he only held one down while one of the others did the rest. Surely that only gets you as an accomplice or something like that? Not guilty of murder.

Anyways good doco's.
