at one stage he was at $15 Magnus's run in the salinger, where he seemingly failed was on the slow side of the track, but he was first past the post on the rails, then he came out and won on stakes day. First up this time in second to the mighty MA. Not sure how he goes at caulifield but i think it is his home track. any thoughts ????

3 starts at Caulfield for 3 placings
Newmarket is a obviously a completely different race this year round a bend.

will be very interested to see how he goes on saturday but might have something on him in the newmarket before that
Yer he runs a few placings but i think hes a genuine chance as the second to miss andretti was a super run and obviously the form hold up quite nicely. I think Shadoways this weekend but its a great card of competitive racing.

shadoways run in the salinger was awesome coming from the tail against the track bias, i find it hard to split the two but i think magnus's odds were more attractive

Yer when i saw the odds of Magnus paying $4.50 and Shadoways was paying the same i was shocked. I thought magnus's form was faultess for the feild it was racing against this saturday and thought it would in the $2.80 region. Also i thought that shadoways would be paying around the $6 mark but i was wrong about that aswell. I think you will get $5.50 for shadoways and i will probably back it at those odds. But also if magnus gets to rediculas odds i might have to back that.

I think that magnus will win on saturday but i also think that he cant beat miss andretti or gold edition who are the favorites for the newmarket

It goes well at the heath. Won first up very very well 2 preps ago i think first up at the heath with Nash Rawiller on it. Goes super fresh 3-3 and likes the heath.

MA is a very doubtful runner, and there are question marks over gold edition coming down to melb as well, if both those two dont run, then everything else will shorten

Magnus is my Newmarket tip, in that thread last week, so i certainly hope he can win it!

Went out on a high last prep, which can be a good lead for a horse to come back even better in its next prep.

Lightning stakes form looks good too.

Shadoways flies first up, especially at the 1100m at Caulfield. He's win there first up last time there was something spectacular. If there is pace, which there should be I really think he will win.

Im with you Cefalu_instinct. If the pace is on he will be last on the turn and will come down the outside and gobble them up. Magnus is great horse but is getting costly for punters like myself who tend to lean his way.

Shadoways 1st up last time in beat Magnus who was 2nd up at set weights over 1100m at Caulfield......... sound familiar. Shadoways is undeafeated 1st up.
I am an fan of both horses, backed Magnus 1st up (it was ridiculous odds), & thought it was an outstanding run. Both have graduated to be top class sprinters & both are capable of winning Group 1s IMO.
This week I really find it difficult to split them.
I will probably watch for a bias, on-pacers = Magnus but if run on horses can win = Shadoways. If they get away with slower sectionals in the middle of the race Magnus will be extremely tough to beat.
Quite happy to take on Fast n Famous 1st up at the Heath.
