Chris Judd has achieved more at Carlton than he ever achieved at West Coast.

See this is just a blatant lie. He won a Norm Smith and a Premiership at West Coast. He also had the privilege of playing next to two of the all-time greats in Ben Cousins and Dean Cox.

Doubt he regrets it. At the end of the day, he's home and earning more money. Don't understand how any West Coast supporter is upset STILL about the Judd trade, I'm more then happy with Kennedy and the opportunity to recruit young, talented players thanks to that trade...

Sure Premierships is what players play for, but Chris Judd was pivotal in turning the Carlton Football Club around and picking it up off it's knees.

Judd will probably never look back and recognize this but it's the greatest achievement any player could achieve as far as im concerned.

i'm not upset! i was just wondering what he might be thinking.if he was still here he would be still in the hunt for a flag, instead of on holidays

Eagles fans you do realise that your club was based on "players coming home to WA" and it was even in your theme song. So its ok for WA players to want to come home but not victorians wanting to return to melbourne.

He wanted to go home, he made sure the eagles got a good deal, do you think its about time you got over it.

Good post, and yes it is time Eagles supporters moved on.

I was pretty unhappy when he decided to leave but the club was a mess and he was there as the pin up boy stuck right in the middle of it. I have no doubt Cousins and the drug culture finally being addressed by the club openly pushed Judd into making his decision.

Judd had legitimate claims to want to return and play closer to his family and in his home town, we certainly wouldn't fault Brandon Matera if he decided to come back to Perth.

Does he have regrets?

Maybe he does, who knows, but the Eagles have emerged with a totally different group of kids because Judd left. We wouldn't have Kennedy, Masten or Ebert, S Selwood, Gaff, Darling or Naitanui if Judd had of stayed. The next chapter of Eagles history is about to unfold with these young guys.:thumbsu:

At least Judd was, and still is, a champion of our club and was a massive reason behind winning the 2006 flag, he brought us so much joy and success and when he did leave he made sure we were compensated.

The bigger regret for Judd would have been choosing Carlton over Collingwood. Would already have another flag & a few to come.

Thankfully we dodged a bullet & didn't mortgage our club's best KPF for Judd like Carlton.

If Judd stays then WCE never bottom out, don't get Natanui and Gaff, probably miss out on some other kids as well. So you would probably be a little worse off right now anyway

Spot on. In hindsight, given we lost Cousins a few months after, if we kept Judd it would have just been a slow decline like in the late 90's.

Losing Judd was great for West Coast.

It looks like to me he's had the perfect playing career. He had premiership success as captain at the Eagles while winning the brownlow there. After repaying the Eagles faith and development in him by bringing success to the club, he decided to go back home where he get's payed alot more money at a big Victorian club. Where he's still playing top notch footy. I can't see how he would have any regrets.

Can't imagine a Victorian regretting living back in Victoria. Paid heaps. At a big club. Will likely play finals for the last 6 or 7 years of a stellar career. Can't imagine he has even the tiniest regret. Also he hated the drug culture with Kerr, Cuz and co.
