Of course he will. I genuinely can’t believe people think otherwise.
Whether he should or not on current performance is a different discussion.

Based on form no, based on his service to the club, everyday of the week and twice on SundayOf course he will. I genuinely can’t believe people think otherwise.

That’s the discussion that I was having….Murphy on form and fitness should not be in the 22

That isn't what will be the determining factor though, we will get him to 300 just like every other club in history has when a player is available for selection and is in the same position.
Its a terrible situation that could be put to bed if Murph was invested or interested enough to crack in and give it his best shot to finish his career .I think we are saying the same thing in that no matter which way you look at it (injury/poor form) he has been the 23rd man picked for the last two weeks and has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he deserves an elevation into the starting 22. Should we keep our finals hopes alive next week by beating Gold Coast and Murphy is sub again what possible justification will there be to elevate him into the starting line up for a crunch game against Port? It’ll basically be akin to playing short one player for the entire match, essentially putting getting him to 300 ahead of a chance to make the finals. I’d imagine if we lose to Port and he does absolutely nothing it’ll long be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
This is in no way a personal attack on him and he was a truly great player and I’m sure he will be appropriately remembered for those better times. Also although I’m usually all for picking the best available 22 to give us the best chance of winning every week, I get the sentiment/loyalty argument and if we were out of finals contention I’d probably have less of an issue with it. But that is not the case so those charged with making this decision must prioritise the interests of the club over the individual.

What is your point?
Which other clubs have carried a player to 300, from about game 260? What are you actually arguing? He’s close to 300, yes. But doesn’t deserve to be. Where do you draw the line? That isn't what will be the determining factor though, we will get him to 300 just like every other club in history has when a player is available for selection and is in the same position.
I guess I don’t have one
He never wore a vest to break a record or anything…..

You responded to my post citing his effort.
Nothing to do with form or fitness.

Can’t believe anyone could advocate for the selection of a player who is physically unable or unwilling to do what is required. We are going in one short, it’s laughable.
He has been largely poor for the best part of 3 seasons. It’s not his fault, it’s the clubs fault for playing him.To me it's quite laughable that people are so bent out of shape over this, he hasn't been gifted since he was on 260 games, that's just a ridiculous statement.
With a slight slight chance of finalsLet's be honest, we had to hold off subbing out TDK because Murph is cooked and can't be subbed in before half time. Get him to 300 and be done with it I guess.
Ok
You replied underneath my post that stated that he shouldn’t be in the 22 due to form and fitness……..You have stated an opinion just like I have
I actually have a reason or 2 why he shouldn’t be in the 22 but should be carried to the milestone
I’ll wait for you post to counter that

Successful clubs don’t do this. No player is bigger than club. I’m100%, it's about doing the right thing and building a good club culture. You don't pick him on form, you do it because it's right.
