Does Murphy get to 300?

Fairly good effort for a player who has been on a steady decline from 2011 to win the b & f in 2017 and be runner up in 2014 & 2015.
No problems in agreeing that he is struggling but some proper context is required.

I’d say Malthouse times weren’t great for him but had a bit of an uptick 2016-17.

Decline since then.

I support Carlton and I certainly don’t support Murphy the liability who should retired many moons ago

My problem is that Murphy knows he shouldn't be out there - but wants it. Thats why he shouldn't have it. To take it - entirely at the teams current success and also denying positions to kids who desperately need it for confidence and possibly even to give them reason to remain at the club is seriously poor form.

That is just no way for a leader or a captain to perform.

I lost a huge amount of respect when Murphy didn't step down for Cripps - never regained it.

Its not garbage at all - its fact. There were strong rumors and the empirical situation appears to confirm that he is being carried to 300 games - holding the club at ransom is not the best character trait.

At the time it was occurring he was clearly playing Carlton off in the media as well which was really uncalled for.

I have never found Murphy to be a remotely convincing captain - ever. Lacks personality and leadership in almost every way.

Each unto their own - but the facts are he is holding out younger players with woeful performances - last weeks was a case in point. He has had one standout quarter this year and has been singled out by the media on multiple occasions.

I guess that's where our definition of being a supporter differs. I support every player who is wearing our guernsey on game day, willing them to do well regardless of whether I agree with the initial selection or not.

He is only takin up a spot for a few years now and best example of this

is Hannerybery for the swans they cashed out on him and suckered the saints into him !! And you arent going to believe this , wait for it !!
