I'm sure the guys that Connolly has really backed in support him and would like to him to stay (Headland, Farmer, Schammer, Thornton, McPharlin, Dodd, Sandilands). But some of the senior players don't seem to like him (Bell, the Carrs, Macca and Pav), along with the fringe players (Webster, Gilmore, Cook, Murphy).
Macca put in a good word on 10 news.

Can someone explain to me the importance or otherwise of whether Pavlich endorses Connolly or not. I mean does anyone on here think
that that factor will play any part re Connolly's future at the Club
which is at best extremely doubtful.
Realistically there is a chance that neither of them could be at the
club next year.

Get Real. If your superstar tells you that he's unhappy with the current head coach and backs it up with facts rather than just a personal difference who would you rather have? The superstar or CC?

I remember living in Chicago when Michael Jordan got Doug Collins (head coach, they were'nt travelling too bad either) out of town and replaced with Phil Jackson. The Six Championships are now history..

Pavlich (if he commented on CC) would be listened too.

He called him "Chris".

You mused the other day that no players had come out in support and now there has been 2 x senior players. ;)

There's an article in today's west titled "Connolly backed on eve of review" about Macca's comments, it doesn't appear to be on their website. He does refer to him as Chris, the part I heard was "We're confident in him. We've just got to get the points and hopefully he'll reap the rewards as much as us." Maybe I wasn't paying attention when he said Chris, or maybe it was selective hearing. ;)

If McManus misses this weeks game with a mystery illness this week like McPharlin did after going into bat for Connolly we'll know that the powers that be have decided CC's time is up. :p

lol. Yeah it's good when there are clear codes and omens like that to signal the current line of thinking rather than statements.

Seriously though we went through some similar dfiscussion last year about how if the players supported Connolly then they would start to play with passion etc. Then we made a Prelim, but people still question it, and think that the players don't support the coach. My suggestion is they probably like him, and don't believe that he is the reason they are not playing as well as they should, and that collectively they need to lift their game.
