I don't mind either way, I'd like to see him make it as an opener however if his technique struggles with the moving ball then moving him down to 6 to avoid it would work very nicely for him. He has shown he can make big scores when he gets in.

I know your post wasn't intended directly for me but for the record I wasn't replying directly to your post either only those who continue saying Warner isn't test quality etc.My OP wasn't designed to have a go at him. Apologies if it came out that way. I was trying to find a spot to maximise his potential and protect his weaknesses. For me that spot is down the order probably at 4 but maybe at 6.

More pertinent question would be 'does Warner have to play'?
Innings in tazzie and just now show he has two side to his batting and isn't the one dimensional batter the media make him out to be.I want to know when Warner will justify his spot. What's he done since his first T20 for Australia? Not suited for Test cricket.

ill happily eat humble pie. Was great being at the ground to see him blast the IndiansStill not convinced he is a test player.

hehe yeah.Must be a bloody weird experience bowling to Warner and Cowan in the one over.

Cracking innings, and obviously has enough talent to play international cricket but I still don't know about opening. For every innings where he does this, there will be 2 or 3 where he holes out in the 20s and 30s because of poor shot selection early in his innings. Might be better suited to 4 or 6 when Watto is available again.
