Some of you guys are acting as if Ross Lyon is the saviour and that success is just gonna happen now. Maybe it will but never forget Malcom Blight and Saints, Denis Pagan and Carlton, and Terry Wallace signed a 5 year contract with Tigers, he was happy but the board would have regretted it rather quickly.

Lots of work to do guys, and while he had a great defensive game plan that worked well on Smaller Etihad stadium, he can't get away with it on a bigger Subiaco surface, but Lyon is a smart man and will work his way around it, surely.

Why use the 'no true scotsman' fallacy. Some paid up, long time supporters will like this and some won't. Who are you to label any Freo supporter as unfit if they may welcome this replacement?

He's done a lot for the club.

However, I believe his actions were potentially threatening the careers of our players. Some very important players.

He was irresponsible when it came to player's bodies and the longevity of their careers.

The actions are correct before he ruins some people's careers. Have a think about it.

I feel for Harves and I quite liked him, but towards the end of the season far too many questions started to be raised, and it became difficult to see how we would turn it around. My sense was this sacking was inevitable - if not now, we would have done it next year. Instead we chose to move early. Whether the manner in how it was done affects the club is another matter (as well as whether the coach we have chosen is the right one), but hopefully it's a stern wakeup that mediocrity will no longer be tolerated.

For all the things that you are not meant to do in football, teams who are afraid to get around them or upset someone miss out.

That Harvey is considered harshly done by, means he is still a contender for another coaching job. Most times when the sacking takes its course the coach become unemployable in that position. Rocket and Harvey will both coach again.

Wow the AFL is pretty cuthroat, but this is a dog act, beyond comparison really. Fremantle have always been a club I kinda liked, but now your clubs admin are bigger backstabbers than the prime minister, and you have a coach that I never liked, and shows can't be trusted....wow I hope it turns out for you guys, but it's not a good beginning.

What world do you live IN? How do you THINK people get sacked or CHANGE jobs? At some point they HAVE TO work it out behind someone's back, then come out and tell WHOEVER needs to be told. And the more professional the execution, THE more surprising/sudden it will be.

This isn't showing we are "just a corporate enterprise", it is showing we are a ruthless enterprise. Which is what you have to be in this game. All the passion, heart and soul drivel is meaningless when we have been a laughing stock for our whole existence.

Despite our on field performances financially we are one of the big clubs and have the option of throwing money at problems (percieved). In this case it's exactly what we have done.

Pies did it at Malthouse a few years ago and that certainly paid off, I have my doubts about Freo's move but time will tell.

Lyon at the trade table may give a fair bit away on what he intends to do with the club.

Malthouse took 10 years to get a result, and even then it was such a shock it created the situation they have now with Buckley taking over at the worst possible time.

Holy shit. People are acting as if this decision was only made today.

Get over it. Yeah it's sad for Mark, but I'm fairly certain we had MULTIPLE threads this season stating how much people were starting to think Mark Harvey wasn't the man anymore. I highly doubt the Steves woke up this morning and said "lets sack Harves lulz!". We need to think about our future and now we have a coach who has taken a St Kilda list (who I reckon are on par with our list) to many grand finals. Bring it on, I'm looking forward to it.

Contracts come and go, he got paid and will get a nice lump sum and a new coaching job. In the end all that was hurt was his ego.

I find this all funny however, that Freo have somehow managed to upstage the Eagles home final this week. Good work to the freo board.
