EXCLUSIVE: A YOUNG Western Bulldogs player was found by police in a state of unconsciousness in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Bulldogs became aware of the incident yesterday and are currently dealing with the matter.

It is believed the player was found in possession of a small amount of illicit substances, and was questioned by police after they found him at 3.30am on King Street in Melbourne's CBD.

The player has been placed in a diversion program by police.

The Bulldogs have failed to return calls on the matter, despite repeated attempts to contact the club in the past 24 hours.

Very sad news if true.... While we always acknowledge that these issues are industry wide, we always hope that it's not us when it happens....

I was joking to a friend last night that the Bulldogs need a good drug/fight scandal.

Geelong and Hawthorn(Injucntion) have both been imbbroiled in drug scandals or women abuse probes. Don't forget Adelaide(Bock) Collingwood(Didak) and of course West Coast either.

So don't worry about it to much guys. It's disappointing on a personal and community level but don't go around thinking the club is to blame or that it's systematic. Let's get over this quickly for the club and players sake.

Im just hoping it is some spud..not that I want it to happen to anyone.
Would be terrible if it was one of Libba, Wallis and Dahl. The three who look most likely to be stars, would suck to see them have a shadow over them for the rest of their career for a disappointing incident like this.

Are there any guys on our list who have had any type of troubled past which could link to this? I can't think of any of the top of my head
Like with that story with Connors and Martin a month or so ago they had had a past so to speak, more Connors, involved with Cousins and what not which they linked to their recent debacle.
No guys like that around are there? Like what has already been said I would be surprised if it was either Wallis or Libba as they do seem like very professional young men..who knows though these days
