Sam Darcy now leads the comp in contested marks with 45 despite playing 5 less games than most others - Gawn is on 44 still to play so probably goes back above him. Next is a massive gap to Thilthorpe and Treacy with 32.

On a per game basis he’s averaging 38.5% more contested marks than #2 in the competition. I can’t imagine there are too many stats categories where the gap between #1 and #2 is even half as big.

Impressive win. Tackling was much better tonight. Darcy and Naughts - TYJ. Poulter deserved his spot. Garcia just goes and goes and goes. Timmy! Bont was Bont. Looking forward to next week.

Brilliant performance. Dominant midfield display and just locked it in all game. It's our M.O and when we get to play the games completely on our terms, it gets ugly

No team is going to have the answer to Darcy and Naughton in this form and when it's coming in quick. Taylor is the best FB in the league and had no answers. Poulter was good early and did a great dual role of being an option while also leaving space for the three big guys. English was BOG in my view, new he had the measure of Briggs and their secondary options so just kept creeping forward and making himself an option all day. Shout out to McNeil for repaying the faith for at least one week, good game from him

You have to wonder where this type of performance was the last four big games where we just meandered before a late run but for now it's probably just best to focus on what a brilliant performance tonight was

Loved what the bottom 6 did. McNeil needs that belief. Poulter was BOG early.
Baker had moments, but he’s the one to replace. He just panics a bit. Tough as nails though.
Vandermeer is not taking the sub role well. I loved his start to the year. Give him a week or two in the twos and get him back to what he was providing early this year.
Naughty’s redemption arc is Oscar worthy. He’s going to have his best season despite being down for a fair chunk of the first half of the season.
Bailey Williams adds so much to us as a wing. He’s one of the best in the comp, keep him there.
Next week is a danger game, but win that and win it well, the Eagles aren’t the team that made us look stupid a couple of years ago (and they want a priority), the bully Freo like we did last year.
Top 4 has gone begging again, but we’ve been there twice before from 5th to 8th.

Kudos to a few of our so called bottom six.
McNeil three goals and lots of involvement all game.

Cleary showing he belonged and CAN make good decisions under pressure.

Baker, terrier like all night, some important spoils, tackles, intercepts etc.

Garcia, putting his head over the ball all night, even in the last five minutes. There’s no stat for that but it’s incredibly important.

Poulter putting his stamp on the game early. Forced the GWS defence to divide their efforts even further.

And this was not against shit opposition. It was the form side of the comp, albeit without Greene and Kelly.
