16 H&A wins vs 15

2016 ladder was very tight. Not much between dogs and first place in regular season.

Wce percentage wasn't much better either
All true. Eg the Eagles were better.....Close though you’re right. 👍

Not including finals results and using the recent seasons as a guide.

The Eagles side finished 2nd in 2015, missed top 4 by % in 2016, 8th in 2017, 2nd in 2018, missed top 4 by % in 2019 and 2020.

The Dogs finished 6th in 2015, 8th in 2016, missed finals in 2017, 2018, and in 2019 and 2020 finished 7th.

The Dogs got to play the Swans in their home state on GF day and Eagles had to beat a team on their home ground, both going against what would have happened based on season performance.

It's not even close.

Clearly not a great deal in the statistics or the match ups listed in fantasy point order, neither side was the best side of the year, but you know what it's in the book and will forever remain as long as there is AFL Football and mankind. I mark this period AC (After Clarkson) and only he knows why, but it may have something to do with every premier since having served under him well their coaches anyway. The "Norm Smith" seems to be awarded off Fantasy Points based on the small sample size. ;)

Who was the greater football side.

Who was the lesser Bradbury?
I'd vote for the team that beat your lot by 7 goals in 2018...and who beat the team that beat your lot by 6 or so goals in 2018 and early 2019 in the GF

Finishing 7th is still finishing 7th. 6 clubs had better home and away seasons.

based on season performance?

you do realise the bulldogs beat Sydney in Sydney in 2016?

then embarrassed the eagles in Perth in a final, beat hawthorn then won again in Sydney before the grand final?

grand final location was irrelevant. The real deal sides win anywhere and that’s what we did in 2016

I detest the use of the term "Bradbury" in relation to these two sides.
If the OP did some research he'd see that 2016 was one of the closest in history when you look at the top 7...the dogs really weren't far off a top two spot at all. They beat everyone that came before them in the finals and were deserved premiers.

The Eagles in 2018 beat the tigers comfortably in the h&a season, in fact they beat all the other teams that finished in the top 5 at some point in the season. After the first 20mins of the GF were comfortably the better team in the match and were deserved premiers.

And you can't call that prelim final loss to Collingwood a fluke, because early on in 2019 they did the tigers again by a similar margin....from about that point on to their credit Richmond developed and evolved to become the powerhouse we knew today, but let's face it...at the time they just weren't up to it and can have no crying fits about not winning 2018, coz it was never their god given right to win it...two other side's had clearly shown they were more capable around that period of time.
