Nah I took my kids to that game. Their first live game, interstate trip. Picked the Saints as thought it a likely win. Not only did we lose but Wallis broke his leg and Redpath did his knee. Let's just say it was a quiet and somber train ride back to Footscray. The train was packed (with dog's supporters) but you could hear a pin drop.
The season turned out OK though!![]()
Just shows that setbacks and a series of them can either make you or break you.
Clearly in 2016, that backs against the wall, us against the world, 'why not us?' mentality worked. Hopefully we harness some of that for the rest of the year.
Taking Darcy's injury out of it, no matter how difficult that is, there was a hell of a lot to like about last night. Some really top shelf performances - so much upside.
