Gotta love the media hate.

When we've had the hardest or equal hardest draw in the AFL for the last 5 years or more running, there was never a word spoken about it. For the first time in near a decade we finally get an easy draw and it's all we hear about.

What do they want, for us to lose to the bottom sides? So they can write about how terrible we are and that Buckley should be sacked. Spare me you pieces of shit. I'd rather be a team that loses to good sides and beats the shit ones as opposed to getting my hopes up beating good sides and then frustrating the shit out of me by losing to crap.
If you'r like me you sweat it when we play the shit sides. We drew with Melbourne in 2010 FFS!!!
As far as I'm concerned we are flying, bring on the "good" sides I say.

Yeah I'm more often than not in a similar head space. I get nowhere near as nervous when we play the better sides. Carlton and Richmond are the exception to the rule though. Never really worry when we play them. This year was the exception with Richmond because I knew they'd come out like superstars after being belted in the media all week.

The next six weeks will sort us out one way or another (GWS, FRE, HAW, PORT, WCE, WB), but you're being slightly delusional (in a somewhat euphoric but still acceptable way) if you don't think that assessment of where we are at is accurate - we've beaten the teams in the bottom 1/3rd of the ladder (at times with a bit of a struggle) and have played some *very* ordinary footy at times against three teams that appear for all intents and purposes to be middle-of-the-road themselves (Crows, Cats, Tigers - we were in the game but that last 10 minutes was terrible).

There's nothing wrong with being positive of course, but it needs to be tempered with a heavy dose of realism and it's pretty clear that the Dogs' best football is on another level compared to ours. I think it's safe to say now that they could beat anyone on their day as they have already shown when they beat the Swans at their own game up there in testing conditions - they're just inconsistent on a week-to-week basis.

If we could come out of this next six weeks with two wins and manage not to let any of the other four teams get a real hold of us (ie. still be competitive in those games for maybe a 4-5 goal loss at most) then we'd have performed above expectations and I'd be over the moon.

Agree with everything except I expect larger losses against Freo and the Hawks while we will be competitive for the bulk of those games, they'll get hold of us for a twenty minute period and play merry hell with us
