I sat through that turgid game with a Carlton supporting mate. I stayed right to the end and just saw a team whose list is unbalanced. That lacks confidence and ball speed, lacks height and lacks the basic skills needed to win a footy game. Kicking.

We are an easy matchup to most teams. Pressure us in our 50 and we will cough up a turnover at will.

It must be deflating to get dominated in the hit outs and clearances everyweek. We put so much pressure on ourselves with the way we play and set up that it's like we are already 3 goals down before the first bounce.

Ultimately the buck stops with bevo. We've had 3 years since a flag and we've gone backwards our list is unbalanced and our game plan is bemusing at best. We have just been battered by Carlton by over 40 points.

We are the worst side in the competition and someone needs to hit the circuit breaker either the players or coaching staff.

Come on now.

I don't mind if I get a ban for posting, but I thought he was pretty solid. Kept Kreuzer very honest around the ground.
No problem with you coming on here mate. Just be respectful and tell it how you really see it and you'll always be welcome.

No it’s not. “Grief” doesn’t excuse anything

Telling anyone to spit on players is disgusting and deserves an immediate ban and a long one.
Scrag was joking Matt. Get a life and stop being a whinny bitch. You of all people .....

Bonts goal kicking at present probably keeps him out of the top 10. It’s not bad it’s awful at the moment
As is the whole teams. My question is why are players now forbidden to put extra sessions in, having shots for goal in their spare time? All due to this sports science stuff? Matthew Lloyd, one of the best kicks for goal out there, says if you put extra practice in, it will improve. So why after 3 years have we not rectified this issue? It's unacceptable for AFL players to so consistently miss simple shots for goal. Put ANYONE on an AFL list for 5+ years and they shouldn't be missing from 20-25 out like our players do.

I have just read all the posts in this thread and can understand supporters being disappointed. However, there are a few posters who need to have as good look at themselves for posting some woeful comments on here about club and personnel.

And the ones who have stated the coach is arrogant .... maybe you should investigate the meaning of this word. Are you saying the coach is arrogant because he doesnt respond to direction from Big Footy forum posters? Give me a break ..... he is the head coach for god sake. He may be making strange decisions that some of us dont agree with, but arrogant is simply not an appropriate analogy, unless he is making decisions without heeding the input from the match committee or his assistant coaches.

So yep, you may be peed off .... but how about using some tolerance before teeing off at the very people that make our club what it is.
I don’t think arrogant is the right word, more like stubborn or obstinate. Most coaches understandably veer away from overt criticism of the team or an acceptance that they screwed up selection or approach, but he seems like he’s on the more extreme end of that spectrum. Sometimes talented people see things differently to most people - which is what will make them achieve great things, but can also contribute to a downfall.

I have no doubt Bevo knows more about footy than this board combined, but if he continues to deny in public (for instance) that losing the ruck and poor team selection/structure isn’t contributing to poor performances then his credibility is affected. Why doesn’t he just say English is learning but we back him in to develop in the first team because we think he’s a generational talent? I’d disagree with that approach but I’d accept it and understand the rationale. Denying it’s having an impact on our performances and results is exasperating given what I’ve been watching for the past month.

He has a long leash at the club, and rightly so - I’m not sure why the extension is needed right now, but that’s fine. What won’t be fine is if team selection continues like this, there is no footy department shake up or some coaching changes at the end of the year.

This was the first time in a very long time that our midfield got a complete pasting. Walsh, Petrevski-Seton, Murphy, Fisher and Cripps made our guys look slow and they ran free for most of the day without much pressure at all. Maybe the consistent need to work harder to a losing ruck is taking a toll but really, I expected much better from them and place a large share of the blame on their shoulders for our pathetic performance.

Joking about spitting in people is a joke is it?

Yeah ok mate

I wi try that in the future and see how it works for me
The thing is Matt - you can't pull it off because you are relentlessly negative and whingeing. So don't even think about trying.

Actually think I’ve been far from the least negative lately and I’ve never said we should spit on players and the coach

But if that’s the rules now then all good I will play by them. Cheers

One factor I reckon was that English was the dominant tap ruck on the ground. Our mids were discombobulated. Totally at sea.

For the Blues mids it was business as usual.

My god that was ******* disgusting. Seriously how hard is it to put the ball through the big sticks? I'm 26 and have played footy for a total of 5 years and kick straighter than 90% of our list, rarely missing a set shot unless it is difficult.

Deplorable.

I had a chuckle as I watched the players practicing kicking for goal before the match - I realised there was no-one standing the mark!

Perhaps if they just pay attention to the little things when they prepare, we'll get better.

Let's debut 2 guys because LOLCarlton.

I knew this would happen. We swing the axe and drop a couple blokes after a narrow loss to GC and Pies and bring in the wrong people, just cause we have to drop someone?

Matt...I'm in no mood to tolerate your crap today...or any day in the future. And if you hit the report button without due cause again today you can take a holiday. Seriously.

Yes all respect to Carlton, they won the flag today....l think. They must have. I was in the medallion club and the way they carried on was ridiculous . Well done to the team but their supporters are crap. Enjoy the win blues fans but NEVER wish injury or misfortune on the opponent. If your club is ever fortunate enough to have people of the calibre of the bont in your club l hope you would defend him as well. The Karma bus is coming.
To be fair the karma bus hit them in 2002 and they’ve never had a sniff since.

You are like a pig in mud after a loss. Wallowing around in doom and gloom and relishing all of the fear and doubt you can plant in people’s minds when they are vulnerable. Have a good look at yourself.

Lol really?

I think I’ve been far from the worst here today and I’ve actually said very little so haven’t had a SINGLE issue with anyone today. NOT ONE.

But make it all about me if that’s helps some of you get past the loss it isn’t my problem.

Only a matter of time before one of you come on and blame me somehow. Maybe flick back through the thread and see some of the sh!t that’s been said and then get back to me

I don’t think they made us look slow, I think we are slow and without the ability to flick the back around cleanly we look even slower.

They played really well(for them) and won the clean clearances which was a surprise but our mids do deserve some excuses because it’s a lot harder to rove to the oppo ruckman every clearance. We were very flat footed at times today
