What do we want to see?

I think we will be playing close to our 23 likely to play in the opening round maybe without B. Dale resting his knee.

New Budarick and Jacques
Likely Arty and Buku fringe from last season

The rest will be the team that played most of last season plus Croft who came in late.
.

Tactics
I want to see improved tackling, some different defensive midfield pressure, defenders not being caught too high and giving away easy goals.

Player Wise

Sanders, Hynes, Arty and Buku have good games.

Great that it's at WO but hopefully next year we can play at Glenferrie Oval. I came upon it by chance when I stopped for a piss recently . What a quaint little ground, how many footies ended up on the adjoining train tracks back in the day ?

I think there was a swimming pool over the fence behind the goals which was probably more of a problem 😁

I guess now Bevo is a song writer we would like to see

Tooth 'n' Nail Lyrics

"Move and create,

Make the magic happen,

Paw prints merge in and under

Dogs on a mission,

Lightning decisions,

Minute by minute,

Stay in the moment."

Pretty happy with the team selected all things considered.

I like Sellwood getting a look in at AFL level with a chance for a spot in the backline as an interceptor / shut down defender. Good to see Davidson fit enough for a spot at HFF, I still think he is important to the team as a runner. Likewise Bramble down back with Dale injured.

And the younger guys, Hynes, Sanders, Arty, Kennedy, Jaques and Emmett getting a look in to lock up a spot for OR.

Not too many concerns with the lineup and interchange bench.

It looks like Buku will be in the side as a defender with the swingman option. Hopefully Lobb takes the backup ruck duties whilst Buku fills in as the second defender for those stretches.

I think at least for this team, it's going to be Emmett.

For OR if Darcy is back, I imagine Croft will run through the ruck, I don't think they will want to mess around with the KPD backs running through there too much.

I’d expect us to only play with 23 and not use the full 26 named
Yep that's how we usually do things. Emmett, Lennedy and Sellwood probably only play if someone comes off or is on limited minutes.

I believe it will be McNeil, Kennedy and Cleary in the VFL from that bench as they are named in the VFL team (Sellwood and Emmett are not).

i hope Darcy plays against the lions. Our forward line will struggle big time against kions without him. Crofty is not ready as a second tall target yet.

Love to see Arty have another good game tomorrow night.

Strong team defence.

No goals please conceded right near the quarter breaks.

I will be there, hopefully some signs of a defensive mindset and structure and some of the younger guys (Jones, Jaques etc) getting comfortable at the level.

Interested to see how we deal with Hawthorns pressure. We get severely burnt coughing up the ball due to it most times we play them.
