I have dogs inside but I have floorboards which are easily swept and mopped. Carpets would be different.

Wish my couple friends would get dogs as their practice babies. Sick of going to houses and getting a cat hiding under the bed or avoiding me like I'm a pedophile.
Dogs beat cats, but **** off to anyone calling a dog or a cat their 'fur baby'.

Most of the problems with dogs stem from shitty owners. People with big dogs keeping them in small yards, then wondering why they bark all day if they don't get exercised daily to compensate. Or 'tough guys' who wrestle their big dogs, then act surprised when it rag dolls some small kid when it gets out of their yard.

I've had a dog and cats and whilst I'd take both over most people, I miss my Rottie I had to put down when he started being in pain way more then I miss the cats. I never thought I could take him into cafes / pubs etc. or let him just annoy people (for attention, he was a cowardly dog. A freaking rottweiler who had to sleep in the garage with the light on, because he was afraid of the dark), like some do. I suppose in that regard dogs have become practice babies, for the self-entitled future parents, who are going to let their little shits act like terrors in public without calling them up (and if you ask them to do anything they (the parents) would abuse you). And yes, I've kids, so I know kids can chuck tantrums, but I'm not talking those, it's the willfully ignoring their kids being shits, that's prevalent these days.

Shit, now this has derailed into a rant against society in general breaking down.

I like dogs but some of them are treated better than children out there. What I don't like though is when owners let them off their leash and they come and jump all over you and the owner just shrugs it off with a 'trust me he won't hurt', it's happened to me numerous times.

Agreed.

I like dogs, **** off having them jump all over me of course.

On the topic of our canine friends, when did 'doggo' and 'pupper' become acceptable to use?
yeah i like the animals themselves and reckon there's something a little bit autistic with anti-dog folks, but these lame terms are typically trotted out by dudes who're trying to get laid because they're 'so good with animals' or 'total sweethearts' or some such shit.

This whole doggers and poopers craze, or whatever they call it is a new low for humanity. I can't for the life of me see how it's a likeable thing. I don't mind dogs but they are over rated pets. Don't live long, high maintenance, noisy, slobber everywhere and they smell really bad.

Same, had dogs in homes with carpet and without. Have floorboards now and can confirm it is 100 times less doggy. That being said if you don't wash the dog and their bed regularly it'll still stink.

I am a dog owner and hate when my dog does this. I won't let him off lead anywhere not designated an off lead area. That being said I have seen people take their little children into dog parks and then carry on when dogs knock them over. I have also seen dog owners with little dogs do the same, worst is when they pick their little dog up to hold them up from the other dogs. This is like dog-cocaine to the dogs and they jump all over said owner which is hilarious.

Makes sense, if you value your knees.

Calling your child kiddo or creating an Instagram page for them is pretty much just as bad.

agree with instagram. not sure kiddo is that bad, though I've never heard anyone use that word in real life.

Kiddo is an American term predating the internet I believe.

"Hey kiddo I bought you a baseball."

"Thanks mom!"
