The same issue Geelong has with their older players in Mooney, Scarlett and Milburn. Saints with the Riewoldt's dodgey knee and the Hawks have lost a few of their premiership players including Croad, Dew and Crawford - big outs.

At the end of the day, a bit of luck is needed to get a team across the line - something that is never associated with the bulldogs.

I don't disagree at all - luck, especially with injuries, always plays a big part in which team can get over the line in September.

I agree about Geelong and their older players, although I think that the only one of those three we couldn't cover significantly is Scarlett. The trouble is, the older they get, the more chance they have of getting injured (in general), so the premiership window closes more each year :(

Everyone has their problems and every club has their fair share of interrupted pre-seasons or players playing under injury clouds. You can't tell me that the Bulldogs have had the short straw with injuries. In 2008 and 2009 the Bulldogs used the third least amount of players used.

If you don't win the premiership and Collingwood finish ahead of the Bulldogs then I'm right.

Being a bulldog supporter I've had little to nothing to be excited about, ever. I believe that we have a squad assembled that can have a serious tilt at the big one this year.

We have a good even spread of players across our best 22 and we seem to have finally learnt how to play hard defensive footy. Even though it was a NAB game and Hawthorn were at walking pace, it looked as though our pressure was instinctive and unrelenting which is a good sign for the season ahead.

I believe that at our best we have Collingwood's measure and am only more than happy to come back and eat humble pie if this is not the case. I expect you to do the same.

I have never fallen for the Bulldog nonsense. They didn't have the mettle or the game style that would stand up for proper finals footy and I didn't think their genuine talents had the bodies or mentality to drag a side over the line.

I now think they can win it.

Hall doesn't give them a star forward, as I think he will have periods of the year where he really does look like a 33yo forward basically let go by another club, but he gives them an achor or a get out option in their forward half. Johnson and Aker give smarts you get from 300 games. Higgins, Cooney and Griffen are the stars of the side and ready to take it to a flag.

Cant wait to see Hall explode mentally once again when he plays a half decent defence, anyone can pretend to be sane in intraclubs/NAB games. When the real season starts and hes getting annoyed that he cant play because his opponent is better than him, then the real comedy will begin.

No doubt that they'll be up there again.

Bulldogs have the flag in the BAG. All done. Hall wont go nuts and lose it or get in jured. Aker, Johnson even though old wont get any injuries and will be 100% come LAST week of september.

O its in the BAG well done dogs on winning the 2010 FLAG.
